CHAPTER 23- THE WEALTHY MERCHANT

CHAPTER 23

THE WEALTHY MERCHANT

Beware lest any man spoil through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

COLOSSIANS 2:8

Mackis’ three men tactically managed to guise themselves as soldiers after they knocked out three gate guards who slumbered at their posts at night.

On the other hand, Mackis became a wealthy merchant who sell goods and precious ornaments and brought with him precious jewels and fine linen for court ladies and royal women of the palace.

He naturally hid his countenance to safely interact with anyone. He noticed Ignacia– his late father King Nicolau’s concubine.

The lady had treated Mackis affectionately as a boy.

He remembered playing with Lady Ignacia’s two daughters inside the palace.

The woman had grown old since the last time Mackis saw her. Her thin black hair had few grey hairs.
