The scandalous tale of Burlington's princess being exploited by enemy troops quickly became the maidservants' favorite piece of gossip. Disguised as a manservant, Mackis overheard the disturbing accounts of his sister's ordeal.

Kitara, now barely able to move, was filled with such self-loathing that she contemplated ending her life. When a man entered the room, her fear was so overwhelming that she began to tremble. She cried out in terror, anticipating further abuse. Recognizing her distress, Mackis swiftly administered a sleeping potion, soothing her into a peaceful slumber.

Evading the palace guards, Mackis and his men managed to reach the exit of the underground tunnel. They had successfully accumulated a significant amount of gold and had rescued two women, including Kitara, during their covert operation.
