A Trap

Lucian and his group of loyal men had been traveling through the night. They had been on a journey for days now, never stopping, always moving forward. They were tired, hungry, and thirsty, but they knew they had to keep going. They had a mission to complete, and they would not rest until it was done.

As the sun began to rise, they found themselves standing before a massive tree. Lucian gazed up at the colossal trunk with a deep sigh, then asked himself with another sigh what they might find under it.

The tree was so enormous that it seemed to touch the sky, and its branches were so thick that they could barely see the sun

Lucian strode confidently towards the tree while his shadowy companions exchanged nervous glances.

They hoped that Lucian would not discover anything dangerous, for if he did, they knew they would be in grave danger.
