At Peace.

"Zayn, it is Uncle" The man's voice came through the speaker and reached the little boy's ear.

"Mm, I know" Zayn answered coldly. Without giving the man a chance to react, he questioned. "Why did you call?"

"Ha!" A short chuckle rang across the speaker causing the little boy to frown slightly. The man on the other side laughed but, the boy did not think he had said anything funny. However, he was only cold and did not bother about the man's unusual behaviour.

"Zayn, Uncle called because I missed both you and your sister, okay?" The man uttered. His words reached Zayn's ears but he gave no response in return. He simply waited patiently across the phone. His cool expression remained as it was.

"When are you kids returning?" The man asked.

There was a flicker of change in Zayn's cold facial feature, the little boy's lips pressed to form a thin line before he answered the man.

"Zia already told you that we won't be returning, right?" He asked and the man only laughed. It was not so easy to deal with a little boy who was also so smart.

"Hm, she did. But, you know your sister, she might say that because she already liked your new place. I could not tell if it was the decision of your mummy" the man quickly explained himself.

Zayn said nothing more, all that was heard in the room was his gentle breathing. He carefully digested what the man told him, he was checking if he had been lied to. Then, after a while, he opened his mouth.

"We are not leaving this place," he said.

"Oh, I see" the man simply said.

"If there is nothing more, I will hang up now" the boy uttered. His eyes lingered on the clock that was hung in the corner of his room, he expect his mother to return with his sister any time from the moment. The man had not said another word when Zayn immediately hung up the call.

As soon as he dropped the phone on the table, the door clicked and his little sister dressed in her pink nightwear walked into the room. Allicia walked behind Zia and also entered the room. Zayn threw them a look before he walked to his bedside and help himself up. He sat on his bed and watched his mother and sister.

"Mummy, help me!" Zia's cute and childish voice sounded as she opened up her two tiny hands before her mother.

Allicia smiled and uttered, "Sure".

She carried the little girl and laid her on the bed, she carefully tucked her into the bed and placed the pillows at each side of her. She bent down and kissed the girl's childish face.

She stood up from Zia's bed and walked in Zayn's direction. But, before she even offered to tuck the little boy into his bed, he already climbed into the covers and helped himself. His cold azure eyes stared back at her. Allicia sighed softly and a smile spread across her lips. She knew what he was trying to express with his eyes and she really wanted to smack her forehead. He was only a boy of four but he was already rejecting her assistance. He wanted to do everything on his own.

She walked towards him and bent down. Before the arrogant little boy could react, she pressed a kiss on his face and stepped away. Zayn's expression was funny and cute following his mother's action. His cute stony face cracked while his eyes widened. A deep blush crawled all the way to his ears and he almost wanted to hide his embarrassed face under his duvet. His reaction was far different from his twin who received their mother's kisses with glee. Allicia walked to the door and paused.

"Good night, babies!" She turned off the switched off the light.

"Good night, mommy!" Zia responded while the twin was quiet. The little girl wrapped her hand tightly around her teddy bear, she found a comfy position before she closed her eyes and fell asleep. Zayn also blinked his eyes a couple of times, his long lashes danced gently and his eyes were heavy with sleep. No matter how hard the little boy wished to hold back his sleep, he still slept off at some point.

Outside the room, Allicia pressed her back against the door of the room and her eyes gazed down, no one could tell what she was thinking about at the moment.

"What are you doing?" Ava's voice snapped her out of her reverie and she gazed up. Allicia's eyes met with Ava's and the latter cocked a questioning brow.

"What are you standing here for? The kids are finding it difficult to sleep? Perhaps it is because they find themselves in a new environment. Let me get them a glass of warm milk, thankfully, I have a packet of milk that is healthy for kids" Ava uttered, she was about to turn around when Allicia stopped her.

"No, it is not that. The kids are asleep already" she quickly said and with a wave of her hand, she stopped her friend.

"Oh…" Ava muttered.

"I was just about to return to my room too" Allicia voiced with a smile.

"I see. Do you want me to get you anything?" Ava questioned.

"No, I am okay, thank you" Allicia politely rejected.

"Alright then, you should go back to your room. Sleep early, okay? You know you are resuming work tomorrow" Ava advised causing Allicia to give a small laugh.

"You act like my mummy" Allicia could not help but say.

Ava grinned and also jokingly said, "I must be a grandma then".

Allicia laughed.

"No worries, I've got your back here. If anything bothers you, you must remember to tell me immediately and don't keep it to yourself." Ava voiced.

"I will" Allicia smiled and said.

"Alright, good night" Ava waved at Allicia before she walked in the direction of her room.

"Good night" Allicia softly muttered.

Her room was just beside the kid's room so with a few steps, she arrived in her room. She climbed the bed and lay down. She closed her eyes and felt at peace before drifting off.
