Shy Zayn.

The working hours quickly came to an end and before Allicia knew it, it was evening already. She looked through the glass demarcation of her office and saw the almost empty cubicles. The members of each group had left the office after the day's work.

Allicia looked at the work in front of her, as much as she would love to still keep working, she remembered her babies back at home and a faint smile lit up her face. She could no longer wait to see them again. She decided to pack up first and finish up what she was doing at home. She could not wait to see her cuties.

She packed up her bag and carried the documents that she needed, she stepped out of the office with only a slight look of exhaustion on her face. She walked down the hallway and just as she turned into a corner, she saw an elevator closing. She quickened her pace and waved her hand indicating that the people in the elevator should hold up for her. But she noticed that no one stopped the elevator instead, the door showed signs of closing at any moment.

"Hey, wait!" She blurted out before even realising it. However, just as she reached the elevator, the door snapped shut in her face. She was astonished.

How hateful! She thought and gritted her teeth.

Just then, she heard a small laugh beside her and she turned her head. The figure of a man came into the line of her sight and she was slightly stunned when she saw him. He was quite a tall man, he had long legs and his well-tailored trousers fitted him perfectly and hugged his slim waist. He was a good-looking man and had a gentle temperament however, his eyes twinkled with mischief. His presence made one feel relaxed instantly.

"You are new here?" The man moved closer to Allicia and uttered with a smile.

Allicia returned his smile and nodded, "Yes, I resumed today". She answered.

"No wonder you did that," the man said.

Allicia glanced at him and arched a brow showing that she did not quite understand what he was talking about.

"Only the big bosses and VIPs use that elevator. It was silly to want to use it. But, it's okay, you were unaware after all" the man explained.

"Oh…" I see. Allicia thought. So, it was like that. She did not realise that she was in front of the wrong elevator. She sighed and thanked the young man.

"Thank you" she muttered and he nodded still maintaining his smile.

"I am Patrick, I belong to the Marketing department, the art and media team precisely," he said.

"Allicia, investment department" Allicia simply offered.

"Wow, didn't expect that you would belong to the senior department" Patrick could not help but say causing Allicia to smile.

"There, this is the elevator for employees" he said and together, they walked into the elevator.

Allicia realised that Patrick was a bit talkative as they entered the elevator. The young man said everything he knew about the company, he explained everything that he considers to be a 'must know' for anyone who is joining the company for the first time.

He even told her that the investment department was the coldest in the company. The members of the department were always gloomy and suffered the most criticism from the big boss. He explained that the most fired employees always came from the investment department. To him, the members of the investment department were the most pitiful in the company but they were also the richest because they enjoyed a bigger annual income and benefits than other employees.

Patrick talked so much that Allicia began to wonder how a man can talk that much. At some point, she grew tired of listening. She could not be any more grateful when the elevator stopped with a 'ding' noise. Allicia stepped out of the elevator with Patrick following suit. As if talking to her was not enough, the man did not forget to exchange numbers with her.

Allicia sighed softly and flagged down a taxi in front of the company. She could not wait to see her babies. Just thinking of the twins already filled her heart with joy and her gloominess disappeared.

Meanwhile, in the underground parking lot of the company, the secretary opened the car door for his boss but, just as the man was about to enter the car, he paused and threw a glance at his secretary.

"Who was it the other time?" The man asked.

"Huh?" The secretary was confused for a moment, he pushed back his glasses and cleared his throat.

"Who are you talking about, sir?" He asked immediately.

"Did you see the person who wanted to stop the elevator?" The man asked.

The secretary knitted his brows and gave the question a thought. He had not noticed anything like that so he immediately shook his head negatively.

"I did not see anyone, sir" he answered.

The man paused for a split second before he made a small throaty noise and entered the car. The secretary entered the car and began driving.

The man sitting at the back seat dropped his face expressionlessly but his eyes were cold and sharp as usual. His fingers rapped against his thigh impatiently. The secretary claimed that he saw no one but, he could be sure he saw a person, a familiar one at that. Or…

Was it just a fraction of his imagination?

About half an hour later, Allicia arrived at the housing area where Ava's apartment was. She had a joyful expression as she walked to the house. Apart from her bag, she was holding another small bag that contained the goodies she bought for her cuties.

Just as she opened the door and stepped into the house, a small figure jumped on her, almost toppling her. Allicia hurriedly dropped the things that she was holding and wrapped both hands around her daughter. Little Zia's tiny arms also wrapped around her neck and she hugged her tightly.

"Mummy, I missed you so much!" Zia cried with her face buried in her mother's neck.

"There, there, baby… I am back now, okay?" Allicia said and rocked her baby in her arms. "Mummy missed you so much too. I thought about you all day and see, I rushed all the way back just to see you!" Allicia said.

Her honeyed words immediately calmed the little girl and she released her a bit.

"Is that so? Did you miss me?" Little Zia pondered.

"You don't believe mummy?" Allicia questioned and revealed an aggrieved expression with a soft sigh.

"I believe mummy!" Little Zia immediately voiced. She was only quiet for a second before she opened her mouth again and said.

"Big brother Zayn also missed mummy a lot, he drew pictures of mummy all day long" the young girl blurted out.

"Really, is that so?" Allicia asked with a surprise filled expression.

"Yes, mummy!" Zia nodded seriously. "He drew a lot of pictures, mummy" She said sounding so sure of herself. "But, he hid the pictures already, he does not want anyone to see it! I am sure he does not want mummy to see it either so you must not tell him that I told you about the pictures, okay? It is Big Brother's secret, he will feel shy and blush if you know that he drew a picture of you" Little Zia said.

The little girl had not noticed but Allicia had already noticed the other small figure that was hidden in a corner. She resisted the urge to laugh as she was sure that Zayn had already heard his good sister exposing his little secret. She could already imagine her son's face.

Ah, poor boy… she thought.

"Mummy, what did you bring for me?" Zia whined as she suck up to her mother.

Allicia smiled and placed Zia down. Then, she opened the bag and gave her the small bowl of ice cream that she got for the girl. Instantly, the little girl's eyes glittered as though they were coated with diamonds, she hugged the bowl to her chest, thanked her mother and ran to her room to share the ice cream with her brother. Only after she left was Allicia able to attend to other things.

"Thank you for helping me look after the kids," Allicia said to Ava who had been watching the interaction between her and her daughter for a while.

"What are you talking about? I am just doing what I should. Did you not say I am their godmother? That is indirectly the kid's mummy too" Ava uttered with a smile.

Allicia did not know what to say, she could only smile helplessly.

"Look how tired you are! Go and take a bath, come and eat and then relax" Ava instructed in exasperation.

"Alright, ma'am" Allicia could only obey with a laugh. It felt so good to have someone looking after her. That was something that had not happened in years.
