His words, laced with disdain, were like a devastating blow to my heart.

"I'll take care of giving you money, no matter how much, but please don't bother me and Helena anymore," he added.

"H-huh? W-wait...I mean I haven't said anything to Victor yet because the information I've gathered isn't enough. But that doesn't mean I don't plan on telling him my suspicions... It's just that I want to make sure first because it wouldn't be good to make accusations without proof, especially when one of the suspects is our cousin."

"Haist... Do you know that because your investigation is so slow, Victor has no idea that these people are plotting against him while he's unaware?"

"W-wait, hold on, it's not that we're slow, but we just haven't found any concrete evidence of their plans because------" Zendrick tried to explain, but Jeffrey cut him off again.

"You know, I'm not really interested in your cousin or what happens to him or these people plotting against him. My only concern is the safety of my sister and the kids, which isn't guaranteed when they're around Victor," Jeffrey said.
