"You already know, Rina," Victor's voice cut through the air like a sharp blade, laced with a cruel indifference that sent shivers down my spine, 
"I won't love you, no matter what you do. No matter how many times you beg, nothing will happen!
You knew from the beginning that Helena was the girl I loved!! "

His words, laced with disdain, were like a devastating blow to my heart.

Daniel couldn't help but feel weak and then laugh, not out of joy, but because of the words he heard from the person he thought of as his first parent.

Even though his grandmother was strict when he grew up under her care, he still respected and loved her. However, his trust in her was shattered when she chose to arrange Rina to marry Victor instead of him.

"H-hahaha," he laughed painfully, and then he looked sadly at his grandmother.

"I-I didn't expect to hear those words from you, g-grandma... You know I always respected you when I was just a child and always looked up to you. I even told myself that I wanted to be like you... but hearing you now say the words I never wanted to hear quickly changed how I see you because, in the end, you're no different from the other members of this family," Daniel said in a weakened voice.

Isabella looked away from Daniel because she couldn't bear to look him in the eyes.
