"You already know, Rina," Victor said sharply, his voice cold and dismissive. "I won't love you, no matter what you do or how many times you beg. You knew from the start that Helena was the one I loved!"

Victor went on, his voice harsh, "The only reason I married you is because it was my grandmother's wish. I'll provide you with money, but please don’t bother me or Helena anymore."

Tears streamed down my face as I struggled with the pain and despair. My dreams of rekindling our love were shattered before my eyes.

I had planned to surprise him with the news of my pregnancy, but now it seemed he didn't care. My hopes for our unborn child felt pointless in a world where its father had already rejected it.

Rina's voice trembled as she tried to process what she had just heard. The words echoed in her mind as they all waited for her reaction.

Jeffrey's voice was laced with concern as he quickly moved to support her, gently helping her lean back against the headboard. His eyes searched hers, trying to gauge her reaction.

"Don't tell me you're shocked because... you didn't actually agree to marry Victor, did you?" His tone shifted to one of serious concern, his brow furrowing.

Rina froze at his question, her mind spinning. She looked at Jeffrey, then at Victor's parents, and finally at the children.

The joy and excitement that had been so evident on their faces moments ago now vanished, replaced by a growing worry at her bewildered reaction.
