Chapter 55: Oscar sausage

"Is this exemption admission notice? It seems the Dean of Shrek College gave me a special pass," Qin Feng said thoughtfully, gently touching his chin.

Dai Mubai looked intrigued and slightly puzzled. "The Dean personally issued you a pass? That's unusual. I don't recall Dean Flander doing something like this."

"Teacher Li, do you think Qin Feng might have been deceived?" Dai Mubai asked, directing his concern towards Li yusong.

Li yusong, now fully engrossed, pulled out a magnifying glass and examined the notice closely. After a minute or two, he finally exhaled deeply and spoke with a hint of seriousness, "This notice does appear to be authentic. It's the first time Shrek has ever issued an exemption. The signature on this document matches the Soul Master's breath of Dean Flander. It's unlikely to be a forgery."

Li yusong's gaze shifted back to Qin Feng. Though the dean had refused a substantial donation from the lord of Soto City, this notice indicated something exceptional about Qin Feng. The old man was puzzled by the decision, knowing how financially strained Shrek College was.

"It seems there's a deeper reason behind this. I'll need to inquire with Dean Flander to understand why this exemption was granted," Li yusong concluded, his curiosity piqued.

Dai Mubai gasped in astonishment. "So it's true after all!"

"Alright, you two, please display your martial spirits," Li yusong instructed, turning his attention back to Tang San and Xiao Wu.

"Understood!" Tang San and Xiao Wu showcased their martial spirits: a rabbit and Blue Silver Grass, respectively.

"This Blue Silver Grass can be cultivated to this extent?" Li yusong asked in shock, as he had never seen such rapid advancement with what was often considered a weak martial spirit.

"Teacher, since Shrek Academy only recruits 'monsters,' do you think I qualify as one?" Tang San asked with a smile.

"Yes, you definitely qualify as a monster," Li yusong replied with a chuckle.

Li yusong then turned to Dai Mubai. "MuBai, since all three have passed the initial test, please bring in the next group."

At that moment, a cute girl in a pale green princess dress stepped forward. Her voice was soft and pleasant, and she radiated a gentle charm that naturally drew attention.

Dai Mubai's eyes were immediately caught by her. The girl's beauty and graceful demeanor had an almost magnetic effect, making it hard for him not to feel a sense of admiration and protectiveness.

The girl in the pale green princess dress placed a golden soul coin in the box and extended her hand. Li yusong's eyes widened as he took a closer look.

"You, come here. Do your family know about this?" Li yusong asked with a serious tone.

"It's my own business. The teacher doesn't need to worry about that. I'm just curious if I meet Shrek College's requirements?" the girl replied with a hint of mischief.

Li yusong examined the girl and then nodded. "You meet the requirements."

"Alright, then," Dai Mubai's voice rang out, "the first batch of people who passed the first level, follow me for the second level test."

The group of ten, including the girl, followed Dai Mubai down a campus trail surrounded by small trees. However, Dai Mubai seemed distracted, frequently glancing back.

"Why are you so distracted? What are you up to?" Xiao Wu asked, clearly irritated.

Dai Mubai explained, "I thought I sensed a martial spirit aura that might complement mine."

"So what?" Xiao Wu questioned disdainfully. She wasn't impressed by Dai Mubai's excuses.

"If I can find a Soul Master whose spirit complements mine, we could perform a fusion soul skill, which would double our attack power. It's called Spirit Fusion Technique," Dai Mubai elaborated.

"Oh? So, you think you've found a tigress?" Xiao Wu teased with a chuckle.

Dai Mubai looked slightly embarrassed. "Uh... it's possible."

"Actually, cats are somewhat similar to tigers, so it could be a cat, not necessarily a tiger," Qin Feng added with a smile.

Dai Mubai scratched his head and smiled ruefully. "Yeah, it could be a cat."

"This is the second hurdle. There are four levels in total to enter Shrek College. You'll need to wait here. The teacher will guide you through the next steps," Dai Mubai said, pointing to a spot where the students were to wait.

Nearby, a vendor's cart caught their attention. The vendor, an older man with a somewhat disreputable look and glasses, was calling out, "Get your sausages here, delicious Oscar sausages, big and thick!"

Xiao Wu looked at Qin Feng with a grin. "Brother Feng, do you want to buy some? If you do, let Xiao San get them."

"It's clear you're the one who wants them," Tang San teased, recognizing Xiao Wu's playful intent.

"Well, it's rare to have sausages. I've been hungry all morning. Please, Brother, buy some," Xiao Wu pleaded with a charmingly persuasive demeanor.

"Alright, I'll get a few," Tang San agreed, although he was somewhat resigned to Xiao Wu's tactics.

He approached the vendor and said, "Uncle, I'd like to buy five sausages, please."

The vendor, taken aback, stared at Tang San in disbelief. "What did you just call me?"

"Uncle? Was that wrong?" Tang San asked, puzzled by the vendor's reaction.

The vendor, Oscar, was visibly shocked and muttered, "I'm only fourteen years old, and you're calling me 'uncle'!" He looked somewhat offended and taken aback, clearly not accustomed to being addressed in such a manner.
