Chapter 20

Myrah's POV

"I'm envious of you two .  You resemble twins. I gushed, beaming broadly at him, "You guys vibe, and you've got those siblings goals and stuff.

"You treat Alton and Alisa in exactly the same way."  You two are really cute.

"Oh, the most endearing is  Alisa and Alton."  Simply put, I'm simply myself.

We have Monica, Alisa, Caylee, Val, Kyle, Alton, and me, which is silly. So you're now included. You know the people I regard as close friends, and I'm sure they would agree. Up to this point, we have attended high school together.

Incredible, then! Come on, let's go on. I told Nick, "I can't wait for the surprise." He laughed, nodded, and walked away.

I admired his self-control and relaxed demeanor. In my life, he was a carbon copy of Kyle.

I pulled my phone from my purse and started scrolling through my dull applications because he seemed to be taking his time.

Even then, I lacked contacts. I opened my gallery and began browsing the few pictures I had. Selfies and images of the North Island made up the majority.

A particular image gave me a big grin. How had I managed to avoid salivating over it ever since the day I took it?

A white towel was wrapped around Valentino's waist in the picture, which showed him half-naked. His left hand was combing his damp hair back while water drops were falling down his torso.

A slight smile could be seen on his lips as he spoke. He was staring intently at the phone, and I had a wonderful view, and the photo was of the highest caliber.

I had all kinds of fantasies about his body. With his neatly separated abs popping, it was exquisitely sculpted. Even the best words to describe my masterpiece of a husband eluded me. He was a strong man, and he was flawless in every way.

I don't even know how long I stared at the picture with dreamy eyes and a very crazy and filthy fantasy. I wanted him to be right next to me because I was so madly attracted to him.

I was finally in possession of something to gaze at whenever I felt bored. It was fun to observe him. His lips brought back memories of our almost-kiss. I was eagerly anticipating it. I can still feel the chills from the way he gazed at me that day. Now I understand why Caylee refused to share him.

As soon as I heard the door open, I locked my phone and placed it back in my purse. However, my face was a bright crimson.

What did I miss, I wonder? Nick mumbled as he handed me boxed burgers, chicken nuggets, and beverages. I was salivating in my head.

"Not a thing. I am really eager to consume these. These seem really delicious. I instantly feel peckish.

"Myrah, that's incredible. I'll give you medicine after you eat."

Thank you, Nick!  You excel in every way.

"Anytime."

As a result, we spent the majority of our trip eating, laughing, and singing along to songs that were playing on the radio with off-key singing and lyrics. But some of the jams were broken. We worked well as a team.

My husband was able to cheer me up with his charm. Just looking at his picture made me feel better and instantly healed me. Additionally, Nick didn't give me a chance to stop laughing before continuing. There were numerous jokes and adorable moments.

Nick parked the car at a private parking lot after almost two hours of an incredible drive on a highway, and we both started to walk.

In a jungle, we were not just in  any forest, but a lush, vibrant forest that was serene and unspoiled by man. The air was different, and the birds were chirping very differently from how I was accustomed to hearing them.

Oh, my Nick. I can't even speak. I adore this location. I feel alive because of how lovely the environment is here. What is this location? My hands were stretched out, and my dress was billowing out as I spun around, babbling.

I was extremely energized. I adored the outdoors. This was the finest surprise ever because I was passionate about the environment. I never considered myself to be a materialistic person. These simple, natural things made my heart flutter.

While filming, Nick appeared to be extremely pleased that I was content. I actually felt excited. I raced around embracing trees, bouncing up and down like a little kid, and looked up at the sky. These modest deeds were all I needed to feel alive.

"Paris, hurry up. Your cuteness is killing me." Even so, this is hardly a surprise. Nick jokingly said, "follow me, sweetheart." I laughed and started walking with him as he showed me other flowers and snapped pictures of me holding them, putting them behind my ears, and other such things.

I adored this and what a naturally good-natured man he was. He was familiar with all of the forest's trees, plants, and flowers.

We arrived at a location I wasn't anticipating after a protracted and fascinating stroll. It was a tree house, but an incredibly lovely tree house. My words failed me.

The first thing that caught my attention as we made our way into the tree house was a breathtaking view of a natural pool that was surrounded by mangroves, vines, and lovely flowers.

The interior resembled a furnished apartment, but everything there was expertly made from natural materials, so we could actually pass it off as one. It was incredibly incredible and romantic as well. If only my spouse would take care of this for me.

"Wow" Nick, this is perfect. I appreciate this surprise.

"My dad gets all the credit."  He built this tree house for Monica and I when we were kids because we own a section of this forest. We frequently go camping here. This site is awesome.

"Can we stay here for a little while?"

"Sure. I can make arrangements; I have clothes here, and I'm positive Monica left some new items behind. There are a lot of things to do in this area. Put yourself at ease. For food and all other requirements, I have plans.

Sure! Is the pool swimmable?

"Sure," anything you desire to do is possible. It is yours to use. He said, "Let's have fun, Paris," and I practically leaped on him to give him a bear hug.

I was happy,  I felt as though I was living in this moment. I needed to be alone, joyful, and carefree with someone who loved me and made me laugh.

The following three days were some of my favorite days ever. Even though I had lost a little weight in a few days, all the migraines had disappeared. As Nick and I became closer, he was definitely pulling down my defenses. If I weren't married, I might have thought of establishing a relationship with him in this forest.

I felt like making a commitment to my husband every time I glanced at the ring on my finger. I didn't want to attack his friend in an effort to hurt his ego. But you have to admit, he sort of deserved it.

Nick was a gentleman and a genuine friend in spite of that. He constantly held himself back because, as far as I could tell, he cherished his friendship with Valentino. He had incredible restraint.

Both his and my galleries were now full of images of the two of us. We had a lot of exciting fun doing anything from bungee jumping to fishing.

Finally, it was time to return home. Ugh, actual world. Nick also had to get to work. My spouse was out of the country; therefore, I was unable to leave for work.

We were playing chess and sitting on the slab of the pool with our feet in the water.

Nick said, "You haven't spoken to your husband in three days."

He probably had a lot going on. They must have been inebriated because it was also Caylee's birthday yesterday.

Yes, he did tell me three days ago to provide him with an update on your health.

"He did?" I evidently inquired in shock.

Yes, but he advised against telling you. I'll give him a call before we head off.

What will you tell him, then?

"That you are fine right now."

Hmm, I needed to make the most of this opportunity. With his jealousy, he was killing me. I had to plan my retaliation to see if I could get him angry or just make a fool of myself.

Sure, send him pictures of the two of us, particularly ones in the pool.

So that I can be killed for being too close to his wife, I suppose.

Come on, now. Do not ruin the fun. All I want is for him to respond. Even though I'm there, he won't touch you.

"Are you trustworthy?"

"Seriously?"

"All right, I'll do it, but with one stipulation."

"Which one is it?"

We can stay close and have fun like this even after Val returns.

"Of course, Nick. Let's do this now. Make it epic," I said, causing him to grin. I could tell he seemed to appreciate the idea.

I eagerly anticipated being humiliated or feeling just a little bit successful that he at least was possessive of his fictitious wife.
