"Those Atlas bastards!" The annoyed shout made Swan sigh. It had been four days since Maru had returned with Rosa, and instead of easing up, Atlas had only tightened security.
Swan hadn't been with the White Fang long—just about two years—but she considered them her family, especially Sienna's faction. The fact that she was dating someone in that faction might have influenced her feelings, but seeing Sienna so stressed and tired didn't sit right with her.
Walking up behind Sienna, she placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and set a cup of Sienna's favorite coffee on the table. Sienna turned back to give her a strained smile, met with Swan's calming expression.
"You don't have to push yourself this much, you know," Swan said gently.
Sienna sighed, having heard the same advice from Swan just an hour ago. "If I don't, who will?"
"It's not like we're going to run out of supplies anytime soon. Think of this as a holiday," Swan replied.
Sienna gritted her teeth, knowing Swan was right but unwilling to admit it. "But what if they don't decrease their security? We'll eventually need supplies."
Swan shook her head, smiling, knowing Sienna was stressing over nothing. "If we run out of food, we can always send Maru out to hunt deer. Venison is supposed to be quite exquisite."
Sienna chuckled at the joke. "Even if I were desperate, I don't know what she'd do to those poor deer. They don't deserve that."
They shared a quiet laugh, then sighed, letting the silence envelop them. "Just take a couple of days off. I believe the Atlesians will give up on this manhunt by the end of the month. We have enough supplies to last for three months. Go relax, spend time with friends, or maybe someone special," Swan said, winking at the blushing tiger faunus.
Sienna growled lightly. "I have no idea what you're talking about. I think you're projecting because you want time off to spend with Nyx."
Despite her protest, Sienna started to get up, causing Swan to smile. "This is only for today, understood?"
Swan smirked. "Understood."
Sienna tsked at the sarcastic response as she began walking down the compound's halls, Swan following with a smirk.
The first sign they were nearing their destination was the patchwork quilt appearance of the walls, covered with different colored pieces of metal. This showed the aftermath of many of Maru and Nyx's 'arguments,' which hadn't been fully repaired because new holes would appear within the week.
The sight made Sienna smile slightly, countless memories surfacing with each piece of scrap metal, something Swan didn't miss.
A barrage of swearing indicated they had arrived. The door ahead looked oddly pristine compared to the surrounding chaos.
Standing before the door, they could clearly hear two voices arguing. Sienna sighed. "They're at it again."
"When aren't they?" Swan said with an obviously fake smile.
Making Sienna grumble, "This was a mistake."
Finally deciding to face the music, Sienna opened the door to reveal a surprisingly pristine room. Off to the side was a couch with a small, outdated TV in front of it. In the middle of the room stood a round wooden table. Virdis sat on one of the four mismatched wooden chairs, telling a story to Rosa, who was seated on a cushion to see over the table. The young girl seemed enraptured.
On the floor, Nyx and Maru were rolling around, wrestling and shouting some of the most creative curses Sienna had ever heard, looking like a pair of cats fighting.
Though most would be surprised or put off by a scene like this, Sienna sighed and Swan chuckled as they walked in.
The first to notice the two women's arrival was Virdis causing him to stop his story, the stop in the story made Rosa also look up. "Ah! Virdi! It's the scary lady!
The outburst made Sienna's eye twitch, the nickname was a rather new development, about two days into Rosa's stay within the fang Maru decided that it would be a grand idea to let the girl play one of Nyx's video games, she didn't even look at the cover before playing it, lets just say that a game about barely legal looking girls fighting a squid grimm was not a game for a young girl.
After a very loud talking to, the name scary lady had stuck and no matter what it hadn't changed.
"Come on now Rosa, she's not that scary to everyone, just Maru." Virdis smiled at the girl with a slight chuckle.
The tiger Faunus rolled her eyes at the jab to the woman who now was standing trying to act as though she wasn't just rolling around on the ground. "Don't worry kid unless you somehow are dumber then the woman who might as well have a rock as a brain then you'll be alright."
Everyone ignored the indignant. "Oi!" That came from the woman in question and just laughed.
"So what's the situation with the dickheads in white and blue?" Nyx finally spoke up after being silent for most of the conversation.
"Nyx! Language, there's a child in the room." Swan admonished covering Rosa's ears.
"Oh! Come on! A kid's gotta learn how to swear eventually."
butting in on the incoming argument Sienna answers Nyx's previous question. "Atlas has for some reason decided to go further into lockdown thinking that we are going to pull something against them, or more likely they are afraid of Maru." Most of the room gave her a confused look at the information before laughing at the obcertity of the strongest military kingdom being afraid of one person and a terrorist group. "Unfortunately that means it's going to take longer before we will be able to actually do anything."
The room went silent for a few seconds before Maru, Nyx and a few seconds late Rosa lifted their arms in the air. "Whooo! Holiday!"
Sienna groaned whilst Swan and Virdis chuckled. "Of course that all you two idiots got out of that." She took a few seconds to frown but then sighed. "You know what fuck it im overworked as it is, Swan your right I need a holiday, I now order everyone in the facility to take a couple days mandatory relaxation!"
Nyx and Maru were already running out the door before she finished talking, causing the rest of the room to shake their heads.
Virdis walked over to Rosa and took her back to one of the lounges where he pulled out a photo album he kept of the time he's spent in the fang and showed it off to the girl explaining the memories in detail with a fond smile on his lips.
Sienna seeing this decided to go and try to mitigate the untold amount of destruction the two who ran out would cause especially with the direction they are going leading toward a certain bull faunus' room, but before she could walk out the door Swan walked up and bumped her on the shoulder. "You know it's a good thing you're doing this, they need it, I don't think they are as recovered from last year's mission as they may make you believe." Sienna only nodded listening to her as she walked out. "Oh and do you want me to make arrangements for a night in for you and a certain fox!" Swan yelled toward the now quickly retreating figure of Sienna with a chuckle.
