Chapter 5

Five years later (I know big time jump):

"Mira we need to get going." I said walking out in my hero suit "There's a villian making a huge tsunami downtown."

"Alright." She got up from the couch and headed to her room to change

As we walked out of our apartment I spotted my crush Eliza. I wanted to go talk to her but we had to leave. Me and Mira signed out and headed to the beach. Hawks was already there waiting for us.

"Hey little ones." He said "Any idea how to stop this tsunami?"

"You fly me in to distract him while Mira appears behind him to tie him up."

"Alright then. Climb on."

He leaned down and I climbed carefully onto his back. He started floating and flew me up in front of the villain. I held fire in my palm hoping he would turn and try to put it out but he had spotted Mira. He aimed a small tsunami in her direction and she was pulled under the waves. She popped back up and continued running along the beach. He started to send another tsunami but I jumped into him, fire still in hand. He was knocked off his pillar of water and sunk down to the ocean floor with me still on his back. Suddenly water started pushing its way up my nose and I was forced to swim up until my head popped out of the water. I saw Mira was unsure what to do. Hawks had picked her up and was carrying her towards me. She still couldn't reach the villain and soon a huge blast of water shot up hitting Hawks and knocking her off his back. I swam towards her but the water pushed me back. When she didn't appear again I knew something was wrong. I kept trying to force my way to her but it just wasted my energy. The villain popped out of the water again completely dry.

"Seems like your little friend doesn't fare well against water." He said

"What have you done to her?"

"Oh nothing. She just wasn't a very good swimmer."

"Wasn't?"

"Oh yes. She's long gone by now. Have your little cry while I finish my work here."

I wasn't about to let that slide. I jumped up and tackled him to land. I punched him until his face was covered in bruises before Hawks stopped me and handcuffed him. The tsunami sank back into the ocean and I searched for Mina but couldn't find her. All I found was a torn piece of her rainbow costume. I grabbed it and swam back to shore. The salt water stung my eyes but I knew I was crying for a very different reason. I had lost my best friend.
