Awakening of Power

Chapter 2: Awakening of Power

As Dante approached the water source, his eyes widened in disbelief. Before him stood a monstrous creature, a sight he could have never fathomed. This entity was twice his own size, dwarfing Dante's 3'7 frame. Paralyzed with fear, unlike his courageous friends Lex and Aldous, Dante found himself immobile in terror. The creature resembled a tiger, but with elongated front teeth, red glowing eyes, and a spiked tail that bristled with danger. As the beast inched closer, Dante's body began to respond, albeit tremulously. Gathering his waning courage, he struggled to grasp a rock, his trembling hands betraying his fear. The feeble throw barely left his hand, and the creature pounced, narrowly dodged by Dante, who was left injured and crawling, every ounce of strength spent. The colossal predator closed in, but at the last instant, the tattoo on Dante's left chest ignited with an orange hue. A pillar materialized, not gargantuan, but proportional to Dante's form. It plummeted onto the creature, extinguishing its life in a swift and brutal manner. The pillar's glow receded, leaving Dante bewildered yet alive. Amidst the creature's lifeless form, he lay, battered and unconscious, a pool of the creature's blood mingling with his own. In a desperate attempt, he crawled towards the pillar, using it for support, and a strange numbness overtook him. Healing energy surged through his veins, mending his wounds until not a scar remained. Astonished by this newfound ability, Dante grasped the truth—he had been reborn in a world of superpowers. With newfound resolve, Dante resolved to harness his pillar power before further exploration. Armed with knowledge from his past life, he mimicked the actions he had observed, drinking water from the stream. In its reflection, he saw his transformation—no longer a teenager, but a mere 7-year-old. He murmured to himself, "I've been granted a second chance at life. No longer will I be the weak individual I once was. Fortune may not have favored me in my previous life, but this time, I possess the advantage of power. Against all odds, I'll rise above, refusing to falter." With these unwavering thoughts, Dante stood at the cusp of his journey, ready to shape his destiny in this extraordinary world. End of Chapter 2
