"Everything okay?" Avalyn looks up at Cain and nods; she doesn't know. She feels like she should stay and fight for him, yet at the same time, she remembers that one time with Marcus and how much she needs and wants it.
"Been a long week." She nods, smiling, sitting down.
"I know, I pushed you so much Avalyn. But we needed to fit everything in so we could get the conditions complete in the time given. One more week and the money clears, then we can make plans."
Avalyn nods, why does he want the money?
"We don't need the money though." He has enough, so why is he so desperate for the money? He is that desperate he hasn't realised this is all fake.
"I do Avalyn. I might have the business and all the money from it. Money is everything in this world, the more I have of it, the more power I have." She nods. Everything is I, not we, he hasn't changed. She looks at him, realising he will never change. It will never be us, or we, there will never be a baby, or family—just him.
