Chapter 4: Bonds of Friendship

"Did you see my strength? I was able to pierce through the walls. Hmph," a group of boys chatted among themselves as they walked into the library, their voices echoing off the walls. The sound of their conversation disrupted the tranquility that had enveloped the room.

Li Wei, who had been deep in meditation, opened his eyes at the sudden noise. "You guys are finished already?" he said in surprise, pushing himself up from the mat where he had been sitting.

"Yes, we're done," replied Li Dong, one of the boys in the group, grinning. "It's a pity you can't join us because of your body, but don't worry. You can just rest and rely on this big brother here to protect you."

"Hmph, I don't need your protection. I will get stronger, become the Martial Emperor, with a lot of beauties surrounding me," Li Wei declared with a hint of determination, his gaze distant as he spoke of his ambitions.

The boys looked at him and burst into laughter, their chuckles filling the room. "Keep dreaming, Li Wei," one of them teased, slapping him playfully on the back. "Anyways, we are hungry. Race you to the kitchen!"

With that, the boys left the library, their footsteps fading away as they ran towards the kitchen. Li Wei watched them go, a mixture of emotions swirling within him. He was grateful for their camaraderie, yet a part of him yearned to be part of their conversations about strength and skill.

He turned to the rows of books that surrounded him, his gaze resting on the titles that promised knowledge and insight. Despite his initial reluctance, the library had become a sanctuary for him, a place where he could reflect and learn.

As he settled back onto the mat, he closed his eyes and let the memories of his friends' laughter wash over him. Their playful taunts were a reminder that he wasn't alone on this journey. Li Wei had found a place among them, even if it meant pursuing his path differently.

With a determined smile, he allowed his mind to drift into meditation once more. The noise outside became a distant hum as he focused on his breathing, on the beating of his heart. He visualized himself mastering the techniques, becoming the Spear Emperor he aspired to be.

Hours passed, and as Li Wei emerged from his meditation, he felt a sense of clarity he hadn't experienced before. The library's tranquility had seeped into him, grounding his determination and fortifying his resolve.

With renewed purpose, he stood up and left the library, his steps resolute. The kitchen awaited, and though he might not be able to join in the physical competitions, he was determined to show his friends the strength of his spirit.

As he entered the kitchen, he was met with cheers from his friends, who were already feasting on the food they had prepared. Li Wei smiled, knowing that while their paths might be different, their bond of friendship would always remain unbreakable.
