Jun

Jun.

The boy from that day, after the exam had also finished. He was the buy I felt cautious of.

That was his name. I didn't remember him fully like Official Mei but, I just recognised him.

He looked at me, his eyes black and soulless in the atmosphere of the bleak grey room. His skin was as pale as snow itself, his nose arched like an arrow. His lips glued in a single line.

His gaze was so intense I had to look away. I thought, what a strange child. Amidst my array of thoughts.

Jun, walked over to me sitting down at the opposite side of the room as I closed my eyes trying to focus on my memories again.

It all came too quickly, it felt like a flood as I clutched my head in pain trying to minimize my physical reaction with restraint.

Even though I looked in pain, the boy made no effort to worry about me.

I came back to reality after I was pulled out of my daze. Light words tickle the back of my brain.

I didn't want to think of it for too long, It made my thoughts doubtful. Is all the memories I have now everything, or is there still some parts missing?

"Li Wen, wake up, there's no time to daydream?" Official Mei spoke towards me. I quickly rose from my seat to follow her.

My eyes still lingered on the boy who seemed to be faultless though he had also gone to explore like the other kids.

"Do you know him, If I'm not wrong, I saw you were deeply staring at that boy as if you've seen him before," Official whispered to me privately in a strangely curious manner.

Off-put by her odd curiosity I concluded our one-sided conversation by one word, "No."

...

Through the many windows and the outside wall of the school, He managed to exactly find the one I passed. I felt strangely intrigued, Was this a sign of me to find out who this person was?

Maybe. Maybe not, Yes or No. My mind had no interest in this strange child at all, But my heart thought otherwise, Who was he?

There must be a reason for this uncanny familiarity with him, is he a character I made, or is he an important one?

Then amid my thoughts, I and the 6 other kids reached a large wooden oak door with a polished golden door knob, the principal's office.

Standing at the far corner of the immense office, shelves were closely packed like a bird's nest upon the walls of the room.

Neat, the aroma of the wilting daffodils on his desk left an unsweetened leafy aroma.

He then turned to face us, brown bushy eyebrows leaning towards a more blood-red colour, tilting upwards. Red hair and saffire eyes which seemed soft yet burnt with years of experience and wisdom.

"Hello, I am the Principal of this State Mortal farming school. I have invited you students earlier to meet the students who have achieved the most impressive scores. Students who will be the future alumni that young students will look up to.

But as of now, you are the younger students and right now you're at the top of the chain in the smallest dungeon.

You aim to reach the top. Sit down all of you let us acquaint ourselves with each other."

I was quite taken aback by his eloquent and talkative nature, in which straight off the bat he just decided to give a speech.

The other children were also slightly taken aback, except for two: Jun and another girl with razor-sharp silver features and an arrow-like face. She exuded a remarkably relaxed demeanour, casually crossing her legs and leaning back in the chair as if she knew she was the best.

The principal sat at his desk, his eyes sharply turning to me with a softer gaze.

"You must be Li Wen, It's nice to meet you, I heard you're grades are already the best they could be. Full score." Everyone, even Jun, turned to stare at me and the girl with long silver hair shifted in her seat uncomfortably.

"A prodigy in the making, I've never seen anyone get a complete full score in such a short time. You've already made history which means you're already a tower above everyone else.

Everyone takes this as a chance to learn, even when you think you are the best, there will always be someone better than you." He said in a serious tone locking eyes with each individual in the room, almost too.

I could tell the layers under his welcoming act although he was very clear on the ranks and system of the school. What he wanted was rivalry, which would turn into competition and be a driving force to improve ourselves.

My characters weren't so hard to see through because I was the one who made them.

Then Jun who seemed to be uninterested in the whole conversation was approached by the principal. "Jun, I think you should look to learn a lot from this young girl." He looked at me, casting me a glance before sharply looking away.

Before I even spoke my mind into my mouth Official Mei held me by my shoulder, "Nobody's perfect, She has a lot to learn, everyone does." smiled Official Mei stiffly.

It seemed like a smile which hid behind deeper meanings, not a real smile, but she was pretty when she smiled that's for sure.

I wondered if she actually smiled genuinely around Mr Long.

Long Mingxi and Official Mei actually were related in a way I would never have guessed.

I thought there were siblings or cousins, but no they were married. Unexpected right?

I remember creating Mr Long's character along with many side characters and background characters. I enjoyed making new characters, and often I liked a lot more of my side characters rather than my supporting characters.

Mr Long and Official Mei were married through an arranged marriage, in which they met for the first time on their wedding day.

In my novel I made it seem like they disliked each other, but they didn't. However, Official Mei was against many of his ideas because he was more of a person who believed in the liberty of others and his ideas and beliefs couldn't be confined.

I didn't specify in the details which topics and issues they were polar opposed to. But I knew that Mr Long disliked the fact that as an Official she didn't do much about the injustice in the city and orphanages.

However she did try but was threatened for trying to question her authorities, so in the end, believe it or not, he ran away.

One day she came home and all his stuff was gone it had poisoned her heart with coldness, in she became so austere and disgruntled.

Nevertheless, the truth was that they both loved each other. They just misunderstood each other too much.

I felt bad for being the main cause of the misunderstanding. I was the writer so it was me who created every misunderstanding in the novel.

...

Then after talking to almost everyone and greeting them, I learned that the lowest score was like 701, which wasn't much above Luo Luo's score. Made me feel proud of my friend she truly had so much potential!

The girl with silky, metallic hair was named Yuri Zhong. She had scored the 3rd highest after Jun, yet the gap was 30 points while the gap between me and Jun was 20 points as he got around 780 points.

Yet this has significantly humbled her ego, however her arrogance and pride seemed to come from another source, and I thought it might be her family.

The Zhong family were full of silver heads and a character I made also came from that family. I came to realise that she must be that character's brother, though he was just a mere assistant to the villain though I wasn't sure of her importance in the novel yet.

The principal showed us around the school telling us to put our things in our dorms, dorms specially made and designed for the best talents.

They were luxury, satin lilac curtains, with a silk duvet and a massive row of beds, 3 exactly.

Just me, Yuri, and 3 other girls were on our way to put our bags down. A girl named Tian Wei had around 6 bags and suitcases, I was to share a room with her and Yuri, unfortunately.

Like her brother as irrelevant as he was, she has a big mouth and like to gossip, saying things like people died in these rooms and all sorts of rubbish. Tian Wei just absorbed the information gullibly like some vacuum.

However what she said next actually piqued my interest.

"Guys, did you know that guy Jun, he used to attend some prestigious Sword art school. He was extremely good at martial arts and sword fighting, and miles above his peers." Yuri spoke swiftly, whilst packing her bags.

She continued, "They call him many things but many called him a black swan because his moves were sleek, swift elegant and precise.

However something happened one day, apparently, he suddenly went crazy, filled with rage and during an outer school martial game he went berserk. Almost killing 3 people."

Tian Wei gasped loudly, as she had been holding her breath in anticipation.

Even I, was slightly shocked at this unexpected information, that he went berserk, it may be an assumption but he didn't seem like that.

Jun seemed more calm, reserved and unbothered yet very distant in comparison to everyone else.

However, I couldn't trust all of it to be true, given she wasn't exactly a reliable source. I strolled across the hallway, peeking into the boys' dorm opposite ours and catching a glimpse of Jun through the circular glass frame on the door.

Now, my curiosity about him was piqued. I felt that I needed to find the original source that would reveal the truth. After all, I trust my gut more than my brain sometimes. And the time to act on that trust is now.
