Chapter 104: Breaking the Cage (Fifth update, seeking first subscription!)

Vincent Wolf was at a loss.

"Am I just waiting for death?"

He was desperate.

For a death row prisoner, the scariest thing isn't stepping onto the execution ground or biting into the peanut, it's the night before heading to the gallows.

Many men, who once prided themselves on their robust spirit, found it hard to withstand the psychological impact of the last night. Some would collapse, some would go mad, and others would go completely silent.

Even scarier was standing on the execution ground, ready for death, hearing the sound of the "bang" but realizing you're not dead yet. At that point, no matter how strong a person's will is, they will mentally fall apart.

Right now, this might as well be Vincent Wolf. He had already prepared for death, only to be pleasantly surprised to find he hadn't died, that he had a sliver of a chance. But this chance disappeared in an instant, replaced by the unknown feeling of when death would come.
