Chapter 22 Fear

I can't believe I made friends with a guy who slips our secrets to just anyone. I stomp out of the school gate when Eclise calls for me.

"Sain! Wait!"

I keep walking until he rushes ahead of me.

"I get it. I'll stop hanging out with you. You could've just told it to me yourself. Instead of sending your friends."

He breathes heavily. "No Sain! They misunderstood something. I never meant i don't want to be friends with you!"

"Then why did you disclose my secret? I'm sure now everyone in my school knows that mom has some problem! I thought you were my friend! Why did you do that to me?!"

"I-" a complex mixture of emotions emerge on his face.

"Its alright. You don't need to help me anymore."

I cross him.

"No Sain! I'm not saying that I'm completely out of wrong. I may have said something i shouldn't have but i-"

I take out my buzzing phone and receive the call.

"Yes, landlord?"

"Sain! I'm taking your mother to a hospital! She inhaled too much smoke and fainted! The house is on fire!"

A shadow befell on my world. Fear submerges me into itself. The fear of losing her sends shivers to my spine.

I choke on my words. My hands tremble. I'm barely grasping my phone. "Which hospital?!"

"Huh?" Eclise behind me leaves a noise of confusion.

I put my cellphone back in my pocket and start to dash. The hospital he mentioned is nearby.

"Sain! Wait!" Eclise follows after me.

I don't have time to care about my friends or anyone.

Mom! Mom! I pray that you are alright! I won't be able to handle you leaving me again!
