Chapter 633 - 6334: Hagrid's pasts; Winter Swimming

"Hagrid?!"

"He's right, you're all right; I've been so stupid, my dad would blush for me now that I'm like this." Hagrid's tears came again, and he wiped them away with all his might, "By the way, I haven't shown you my old dad's picture yet, have I? Here it is!"

Hagrid stood up, walked over to the closet, pulled open a drawer, and took out a picture of a short wizard with dark, squinting eyes like Hagrid's, who was sitting on Hagrid's shoulder and laughing heartily.

Judging by the apple tree next to him, Hagrid was seven or eight feet tall.

But his face was young, full, and smooth, without a beard, and he looked at most 11 years old.

Seeing this photo made Evan even more skeptical about how Hagrid's mother conceived him.

Hagrid's father was very short compared to the giant; the proportion gap is too big, bigger than Evan thought before!

"This was taken shortly after I entered Hogwarts!" Hagrid said hoarsely, "Dad was overjoyed; he thought I wouldn't become a wizard, you know, because my mom, ugh, don't mention it! Of course, I was never very good at magic, but at least he didn't see me expelled. He died of an illness when I was in second grade, and I was kicked out of school shortly after that."

"After Dad died, it was Dumbledore who stood by me. Got me a job as a gamekeeper. He was trusting. He always gave people second chances. That's what made him different from the other Headmasters?" Hagrid continued, "Dumbledore accepted someone to Hogwarts if they were talented. He knows that even if a person is not from a good background, he will still have a future. Alas, this approach is very respectable. But some people don't understand this and always discriminate against you because of your birth."

Hagrid was right; the bloodline theory has always been very popular in the magic world.

Pure-blooded wizards are born noble and dominate the mainstream of magical society, looking down on half-blooded wizards and muggle-born wizards.

Muggle-born wizards abhorred this, but they, in turn, discriminated against apprentice wizards such as werewolves, half-blood giants, and other non-human magical creatures.

Harsh laws were implemented to limit their development and facilitate their exploitation.

It was like a hierarchical pyramid, with one layer on top of the other.

Bloodlines and origins created an unbridgeable gap between the wizards and magical species.

In a sense, except for a few pure-blooded wizards, most wizards are victims.

But they are also the perpetrators, continuing to discriminate against wizards and magical beings of lesser blood and origin than their own.

In the past, this idea protected the magical heritage, saving wizards from Muggle persecution.

But nowadays, this corrupt and backward concept has limited the rapid development of the magical world and should be stopped and discarded.

"They've always been like that, some cowards even pretending they're too big-boned to speak the truth. I am what I am and have nothing to be ashamed of." Hagrid wiped the last tears from his face, "'Don't ever be ashamed,' my dad used to say, 'Some people will discriminate against you because of it, but they're not worth bothering about.' He was right. I was stupid. I'll never bother about that woman again, I promise you. Big Bones, I will give her a taste of my big bones!"

Evan, Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at each other uneasily as, out of excitement, Hagrid continued talking.

Even if they were beaten to death, they would not want to admit that they knew about Hagrid's conversation with Mrs. Maxim, and Evan and Hermione were right there.

Hagrid's first words were very encouraging, but later on, it was a bit puzzling!

It seems that Hagrid's grudge against Mrs. Maxim is really deep enough!

Although the result differed slightly from what was expected, the matter was finally resolved!

Except for some of the Slytherin students, most people didn't care about whether Hagrid was a half-blood giant or not.

Everyone was happy that he could return to the school, although a large part of this was because he had changed the content of the curriculum.

I don't know if Hagrid was trying to make up for his mistake with the tailed snails, or if it was because they were the only two left, or because he wanted to prove that if Prof. Grapeland could do it, so could Hagrid.

Anyway, after Hagrid returned to class, he continued Prof. Grapeland's class on unicorns.

The results proved that Hagrid's knowledge of unicorns was no less than his knowledge of trolls.

However, he apparently found it disappointing that unicorns didn't have tusks.

The next week, Evan and the others saw the two unicorn cubs that Hagrid had captured in a level three class on the protection of magical creatures.

Unlike adult unicorns, the cubs were solid gold in color and very rare.

When the girls saw them, they went wild with joy.

"These cubs turn silver around two years old!" Hagrid told the class, "Horns come out at four years old and don't turn pure white until they are adults, around seven years old. They are more gullible when young and don't take much offense to boys. Come here, come a little closer; you can pat them if you like and give them some sugar cubes."

In the classroom, all the students went up and touched the unicorns, and everyone was excited.

At the same time, everyone's impression of Hagrid changed dramatically.

Campus life was calm again, and the next thing to think about was to help Ron get through the second game.

After Christmas, the date of the match was very close!

Harry and Hermione reminded Ron of this occasionally, but he hadn't made any real progress with the Golden Egg.

Although he studied it daily, Ron didn't completely focus on it.

In addition to his daily lessons, he and Lavender spent more and more time alone.

The two of them would sneak out in the evening and date inside the castle, looking for empty classrooms almost daily.

Ron and Lavender were progressing quickly, and both were very open about it, much to Evan's envy.

He and Hermione were alone together every night but didn't spend all day together in that sort of thing.

Not to mention going to empty classrooms like Ron and Lavender, they spent almost all their time in the library.

They would only say a few flirty things about each other when they returned to the common room for a late-night snack.

It was plain but equally happy and sweet.

This satisfies Evan, but if it can be more bottomless, he is also not against it.d Business.)

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

About the secret of the golden egg, Evan didn't tell Ron; it would easily arouse suspicion.

It would be too obvious and meaningless.

The key to the second match is not the information inside the golden egg but how to let Ron dive under the water.

There is no need to count on magic spells; with Ron's current condition, letting him completely master these difficult spells is not practical but too unsettling, or using the gill sac grass is more suitable for him.

Gillyweed is a magical plant that grows near the Mediterranean Sea and is very rare.

In Hogwarts, only Snape had it in his private stash.

As for how to get the gillyweed, that was something Keresys needed to worry about; Evan was not prepared to intervene.

On the last day of the Christmas vacation, he talked to the vampire once again.

Evan's worries seemed to be a little redundant. Voldemort hadn't made much progress outside of the school; at least Keresys' people hadn't given him any feedback, and he hadn't received any new orders except to help Ron in any way he could.

As for why Barty Crouch was sick and where Voldemort was, he didn't even know.

Keresys was not a qualified spy; he did not have Voldemort's trust.

Like the enemy, the other party is hiding everything from him, or directly giving the wrong information.

But if you think about it, Voldemort is like that; he has never trusted anyone.

Snape also spent decades contributing countless private information about the Order of the Phoenix before he could sneak into Voldemort's side.

Like Keresys, the vampires who did not join the Death Eaters, who were obedient to Voldemort, and who had always had their own plans to tarnish the noble blood of Slytherin, would be ruthlessly discarded after Voldemort regained his power.

Keresys also recognized this very well and would ally himself with Evan.

Although he knew no key information, Evan still knew something from him.

It was the new initiative that Percy had been talking about at the ball. After so many accidents in the first match, Barty Crouch suggested that all the facilities for the next two matches should be built by the Ministry of Magic for safety reasons.

The Ministry would send someone to check the safety of the facilities, and Hogwarts would not be allowed to intervene.

The purpose of doing so was obvious. Preventing danger and other things was secondary, and it became easier to do anything.

Even without the help of Keresys, Barty Crouch could do it himself.

Kiresis had reservations about whether Barty Crouch Jr. was impersonating his father.

He only told Evan not to forget the Imperius Curse; as long as there is a chance, Barty Crouch can use this spell to control many people for him to manipulate and control.

With the ability of the little wizard, there is no way to resist breaking free from the spell's control.

This is the main reason why, during Voldemort's reign, all wizards were in fear.

It would be a nightmare if little Barty Crouch used the Imperius Curse at Hogwarts.

In this case, it would be foolish to search for Barty Crouch Jr., and even if you found him, it wouldn't be of much use.

Only as soon as possible to enhance their strength is the key to crack everything, Evan in accordance with their plans to move forward steadily.

Time gradually passed, and in the middle of January, the students went to Hogsmeade village to play.

Evan and Sirius agreed to go to Hogsmeade today to teach Apparation to him, and everyone followed to visit Sirius.

Hermione didn't approve of Ron going to Hogsmeade, "Ron, I thought you'd take advantage of the fact that the common room was empty and relatively quiet to work on that golden egg."

"But I have an appointment with Lavender to go together." Ron stopped wisely as he noticed Hermione's blush, "Oh, and about that golden egg, I've already figured out what it means!"

Ron rubbed his hair uneasily as he lie.

He had had enough of that golden egg that only made noise and was slightly tempted to give up.

During this time, as soon as he returned to the dormitory, he took the golden egg out of the box, opened it up, and listened to it carefully, hoping to figure out the mystery, forcing himself to think about what else the sound reminded him of other than the 30 musical songs.

But Ron could think of nothing; he had never heard such a sound.

He closed the egg, shook it vigorously, then opened it again to see if the sound had changed.

No, it was the same!

He tried asking questions of the egg, shouting at the top of his voice over its screams, but nothing happened.

He even burned the egg with fire and threw it to the ground, but he didn't expect that to do any good.

Overall, Ron was on the verge of a breakdown from all the useless work he'd been doing lately.

He needed to relax, and even though it made him feel a little guilty to say so, there was no way he would miss his date with Lavender.

Ron was just now realizing that having a girlfriend did feel good.

As for proving himself to be the true warrior of Hogwarts, winning the tournament and so on, on the contrary, became a secondary goal.

To be able to win the fire dragon, he was already satisfied in his heart and wanted to prove that his ** was not as strong as before.

Thinking of Hermione's stunning dress at the ball, Ron was a little uncomfortable, a strange emotion that made him not want to listen to Hermione's advice.

Besides, he still had five weeks to study the clues of the golden egg, a long time!

On Saturday, Evan, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Colin, and Gabrielle left the castle together, walking through the cold, damp grounds towards the school gates.

As they passed Durmstrang's big boat moored on the lake, they saw Wicked Durkrum come out of his cabin onto the deck, clad in a pair of swimming trunks. He was really skinny but still seemed to be in pretty solid shape, and they saw him nimbly climb over the side of the boat, stretch out his arms, and plunge into the water with a splash.

"My God, what is he doing?!" Colin couldn't help himself, "It's suicide!"

"He's crazy!" Harry looked at Krum's dark head floating in the lake's center, "It's January; it must be freezing!"

"It's much colder where he came from." Hermione said, "I think it's quite warm for him."

"Krum is strong, stronger than most people!" Ron defended him, "Temperature isn't a problem; he's probably in the habit of winter swimming. These difficulties are just a minor inconvenience to him!"

He is now on good terms with Krum and can rarely say a few words after meeting him. (To be continued ...)
