The Unexpected Visitor

"Hey, want some hot beverage? It's already past midnight" Bryan said while stretching his arms over his head

I automatically look up at the wall clock on the hemline of the door behind me, "Is it already?"

I didn't feel the time.

After that drama this morning, Gab swooped out of the house without saying where he was going because there was no way that he'd go to work. It is Sunday.

Well, he's probably wanted to take some time off to clear up his head but it is way past his usual stroll outside.

I put down the paintbrush on the easel and get up from my seat. Then, I remove my apron and place it carefully on the stool I sat on earlier.

"I'll heat us some water."

Bryan followed and raced me to the kitchen, "I'll do it." he said while placing both of his hands on my shoulders. He then lightly pushed me towards the dining table. "You sit there and relax. I'll cook something for us to eat as well. I'm starving."
