When It's Not Enough

I don't know how long am I running but my body can't seem to feel the exhaustion as my mind tries to wipe off the memory of what happened a while ago.

I am already outside the villa and on the open road. Car lights beam my way as they drive past me.

I don't even know where to go but I can't stop.

I won't stop.

Until...

"Can't you hear me? Gosh! Who would have thought that you were a fast runner?" said Alex as he grabbed my wrist from behind

I was shocked of course, especially when I noticed his car behind him with the door still open which meant he jumped off in a hurry to reach me.

I am huffing for air as he is.

After we caught our breaths, we hopped in his car and stayed there in silence for a minute or so and then drove off.

"So, that's the reason for the tension I sensed between you two."

Alex breaks the silence as he stops the car because the light is red.
