Proof of Dependability

"I can't believe you fools! How dare you be so naive?" 

Between the two huts drawing everyone's attention, people were gathering. There were at least three dozen beastfolk out in the middle of the night. Many were kneeling and praying before the statue of the Grand Buck. 

Plenty of people were also standing around their chiefs and Kerl, with Lady Barka refusing to remain silent. 

"Your weak decisions will bring the fall of this settlement. Be strong and fulfill your duties as our chiefs!" Barka cried out. "Even my own husband has fallen for this ploy. I'm ashamed!"

"Barka, now is not the time for you to incite rebellion," Kerl stated with a stern glance sweeping over the crowd.

The elkkin elder shook her head in disgust. "If not now, when? After this goblin has made things far worse than they already are?
