An Unforgivable Loss

Rizz had no idea that he was making such an expression. His full focus was on the Valley Lion, which leaped off the tree and to the side. Its lethal leer was still locked onto the now-grounded goblin.

For the first time, the Valley Lion didn't immediately pounce. It walked in a circular fashion around the unharmed goblin.

The dagger in its side didn't reduce too much mobility. But the blade in its back restricted the range of motion in its left shoulder. It took that moment to reassess its priorities. And that lifeless wolf started to look far tastier than the untouched humanoid.

Rizz had already suspected for such a thing to happen. It was why he stood over the carcass at the beginning. And it was also why Rizz burst into a sprint for the dead wolf.

Accepting the challenge, the Valley Lion took off. It was injured with two dagger handles jutting out of it. But the lion still overtook the speedy goblin in a footrace.
