While the sun rocked itself to sleep behind the surrounding mountain peaks, the slapdash town of Abydah settled in for the night.
Vendors broke down their shops and loaded up their carts. It was easy to tell the local traders from the visiting merchants.
Almost all vendors on the central market's outer edge would pack their goods into a cart, a storage item, or both. Then, those folks would travel to wherever a pillow was waiting for them. Some merchants with a large enough storage item wouldn't be bothered by renting a tent outside of town. Others, who relied more heavily on carts or wagons for their goods, would steer their supplies to their inn or hostel of choice.
Meanwhile, more than half of the stalls at the heart of the market were tents with a booth outside the door.
