Chapter Eighteen - Eatheral

The dust settled and the sky cleared up revealing a orange hue with a mixture of deep crimson, the attention of the adventurers below was fixated on the sky's above but not on the beautiful sunset that's dawn.

Their gaze was on something else and oddity that had never graced their sights before. A figure close to that of a human loomed above. It stood in place with an outstretched arm or what should have been one it's limb was that of an octopus but lacking in numbers. A single tentacle more than a fifty meters in length but kept decreasing in length as it eerily returned to the body from which it stretched.

There was no sound being made except from the wind the people below were dead silent all filled with a mixture of emotion but a single thought 'Did that he just save us' , 'Is that a monster?'

No one dared to move or speak, the entire battlefield or what remains of it after their slight victory was overwhelmed by the existence seemingly standing on air above them.

"Hmmm! Is my aura leaking… no I doubt that I did suppress my aura before coming here, wait I didn't come here to beat some filthy monster." The being began to express its thoughts out loud. "Ah I remember I sensed the protection of the damn lizard and came flying here before that filth distracted me, but who is it there are so many of the bitches worms below I can't seem to single out the one with that lizards protection."

The appendage then transformed into a hand after shrinking and he crossed his arms before casting a stern glance at the mass below him, seemingly deep in thought his eyes danced among the people gathered below insearch of something his eyes expressing a dire need which seemed more like a threatening hunger.

"I know!… if I attempt to kill them the one with the lizards protection is bound to survive even if everyone else dies. I guess it's your turn now I'll test this one out next!~" he spoke in an excited tone especially when he mentioned testing something out like a kid with a new toy his eyes gleam with happy anticipation, his lip were left slightly parted which seemed like an unconscious action for it allowed for his excitement to cause him to drool.

His body began to pulsate like a beating heart starting from a slow tempo that increases its pace with every pulse, his chest expands slightly as each pulse reverbs tediously in the air.

"Here it come!"

"Here it comes!~" The being voices resounded with excitement causing Sai to gulp in anticipation of what's the come. The hair on his arms started to rise as his fear of the words the figure spoke drove fear into him and everyone around him but even with all that fear no one moved as if they were being held in place by a hidden force.

Sai gaze dropped slowly trying not to make any big or obvious movements to not become a target. His eyes scanned his immediate surroundings to find his partners.

Ellen stood on guard but unable to move, she had a expression of fear one that seemed foreign on her face. She trembled at the sight of the figure but still gripped her sword with conviction waiting for her body to catch up.

Rochelle on the other hand had a weird smile plastered on her face she pulled her one handed sword from its sheath slowly as her eyes showed how angry she was despite having such a smile.

Sheena shouted at everyone to fall back as it seems she was the only one able to move. Realizing that her words was reaching anyone not even her master she grabbed him by the hand. She gripped her staff with the determination to protect and an explosion of pink aura arose with said determination as she casted her defensive skill this time big enough for the entire battlefield.

"Wall Of The Priestess" *4

She repeated the name as many times as she casted her skill creating barrier upon barrier, that began to shatter one after the other as it was met by a massive torrent of blue flames.

She began to scream under the pressure a scream that only a dying person would make, the scream brought everyone to their sense as the look up as saw a massive wrym bigger than any we have face.

The wrym was protruding from where the figures arm once was. It's reptilian body cover it's massive scales that shimmered under any light even the dim evening sunset was outmatched by its beauty, in contrast to it's beautiful scales it's head was far from being beautiful but it had a majestic look that which belonged either to a prideful lion or a noble dragon. It had two long tail like whiskers that where more like whips as they flailed about under the creatures movement.

The beast had rows of knife like appendages in its mouth that acted as its teeth.

It was quite a horrifying sight one that would make anyone run just from a glimpse yet no one moved until they heard Sheena's scream and saw how hard she fought to defend us all from its breath.

That mages who had barrier skills also joined in creating barriers to support hers and those with out shared mana with those who had to strengthen their barriers.

The tanks also did the same along side Mizuki. Their muddy brown auras mixed with the myriad of colors that the mages had the activated their skill in unison fulling the field with their voices and roars.

"Hmm the one blessed by that drunk Titian is also here huh, he isn't my main target but it's still a score!'
