Chapter 34.6 - The Life Journey A Young Girl Took [Part 2]

The swinging creak of the tavern's door hinted at the arrival of yet another customer in this bustling food joint, where the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses filled the air. The wooden floor seemed to vibrate under the weight of an incoming boot heel, suggesting a medium-build figure was crossing the threshold. I couldn't help but wonder what stories or surprises this newcomer might bring to the lively scene—would they be a friendly face or a mysterious stranger? The day was at its peak, and the possibilities felt endless as my usual shift would stretch from the sunrise to sunset.

The location made the business a successful one as adventurers and travelers would pass through the gates often times hungry and exhausted, seeking a place to enjoy a meal and to share stories of their daily ventures. As they drank and rested inside the boisterous environment the tavern provided, I sighed exasperatedly, trying to catch the attention of my overseers. I longed for a break and wouldn't be given one just by requesting it to be so.

My attempt failed as it usually does and I am not obligated to approach the new coming customer with a welcoming gesture and and smile this figure stood tall and ambiguous, he glanced at his surroundings. I assumed he was in search of a tabled and made an attempt at communicating this.

"Excuse me sir… welcome to the Little Angels Eatery, we have open tables to this side of your her to dine in or you could follow me to the counter if your interested in take out." I guestured to the left of the building to which a few empty tables stood amongst the crowd. The customer did not reply but only turned his attention to the tables at which I gestured to strolling towards them before taking a seat in his wooden barrel chairs.

"This is quite a nice environment." He spoke in a tone that did not match his words and he sounded stoic even while giving his compliments. He gently tapped on the round cedar table before him.

Hearing his words of praise I took the time out to quickly glance at my place of work and even though I've been working here for over a months my growing annoyance for this place prevented me from actually taking in how breath takenly beautiful this tavern was, it was a wooden building made from logs standing vertically beside one another with a cedar planked roof, it had Oak planked flooring.

The building was an sizable circular space divided into two parts by a wooden framed partition with a door serving an entrance to the other side of the building. The other side of the partition was the kitchen as this side was the dining area with only chairs and tables besides the swinging door that stood as the main entrance to the building itself.

Beside the door there's was a window that was at shoulder height from the floor that acted as a counter the pay and receive food via the waiteress or book keeper..

There were small cyndrical oil lamps hanging from chains in the ceiling that illuminated the restaurant as the dining area had no windows.

"A oxen steak and a steamed irishes with your strongest ale." The stoic voice of the well dress customered brought be back to my sense and reminded me of the reason am annoyed of this place. I wrote a note of his order on my note pad then proceeded to rip the page out and handing it over to the book keeper at the counter who voiced his order to the chef in the kitchen before writing a price on the note I gave him and writing down the order and cost in the order book.

Not long after the chef presented a platter with a glass dish with the oxen steak coated in honey and fried oinions along with various green vegetables and a wooden bowl with boiled irishes covered in smooth milk and a wooden clog of ale.

I delivered it to the customer along with the previous note that now had the price of his meal on it.

"Please enjoy your meal." He grabbed his fork and instantly stabbed it into his bowl of irishes before taking a bite. He completely disregarded my well wishes and started enjoying his meal which irritated me but I paid it no mind and turned to step away from his table.

"WWWhat's is a beautiful woman like you doing working your ASS~ off in a place like this?" A drunken stutter greeted me the moment I turned to return to my post.
