I was in bigger trouble than i had thought. In Glen's words, Aaron sounded like a disease that drove him to seek death until his energy center was satiated.

According to Glen, Aaron had outgrown his phase when he opened his workshop and devoted his energy to creating and repairing things.

Day and night he spent working in his shop, keeping that flame extinguished until he met Carter, until he entered police school.

Every day I watched Aaron become more paranoid, as if suddenly something inside him was going to explode. In contrast, Carter seemed more focused and calm, something that did not seem to be his nature.

"Here" I said to Aaron, handing him a fizzy drink.

My stove had recently broken down. Aaron offered to repair it, I thought at least I could keep an eye on his mood and know if something was wrong with him.

"Thank you" Aaron replied, taking the drink in his hands and letting himself take a swig.
