Grain of Salt

Demyan

"You're home early," Pa stopped watering his vegetables for a quick second to lower his sunglasses and quickly scan me over. His long platinum blonde hair was braided into two french braids, he wore a denim overall with a white shirt underneath it and beige hiking boots.

Throughout my childhood I always knew that if he was not at work, with Dad or doing yoga, I could always find him in our greenhouse. It was his absolute oasis and he could spend hours without even noticing the world around him.

"Demy," he frowned, "Are you okay baby?"

I took a small sniff as I wiped my eyes one last time. I had been crying ever since I left Ethan's office and I was not entirely sure why. It frustrated me beyond belief that it felt like I was that twenty year old once again who felt like they had just committed the biggest mistake of their life. "I went to go see Ethan at the office today."
