"Don't cry Malia," I frowned as I cradled her close to my chest and kissed her forehead in efforts to calm her down. "I don't know how we'll figure this out but we will and I'll be there to support you no matter what."

"We were in over our heads," she sobbed before she reached out for the box of tissues and grabbed a handful then blew her nose.

I shrugged and poured her a glass of water to drink which she greedily gulped. Before I could ask her a word the Doctor came in with a friendly smile. Once I had introduced myself and he did the same he finally explained to me what had happened.

"We found that Malia has been extremely dehydrated and malnutritioned for the past few weeks which caused a massive dip in her blood sugar levels. Feeding into that she also has been wearing a corset to conceal the early side effects of pregnancy such as your bloating, sudden weight gain and other physical changes.
