It Was Jealousy

"Thank you," I curtly nodded as I held the large bouquet of roses in my arms and tried to stop my fluttering heart from waving my current very unpleasant mood. No one had ever bought me flowers except for Demyan, not romantically anyway.

There was one time I broke my leg because I was trying to jump a fence back at the farm when I was twelve and Uncle Ed bought me a whole bouquet of lavender and wild flowers with a stack of juice boxes.

"My pleasure," he breathed out. I could tell he wanted to kiss me by how his body inched to me but I took an unpurposeful step in the direction of the kitchen further back in the penthouse.

"Have to put these in water," I was not really sure if he was following me until I entered the kitchen and saw the flicker of blonde hair behind me.
