Dad's Bugatti

Demyan

"Go to your room Demy," Pa frowned as he gave me a tight hug.

"But Dad," I sobbed.

He quickly shook his head, "Give him time. It's a shock to us both. He feels more, you know that."

I looked at him and quickly tried to wipe away my tears, "Are you disappointed with me too?"

He pressed his lips into a thin line before he looked away from me, "I wish you had made better decisions." He let out a heavy sigh then stood up, "Go to your room. I'll try to talk to your Dad."

I nodded weakly and stood up with the small ring box in my hand. The walk up the stairs was the longest in my life and I jolted in surprise when I heard a door from Pa's and Dad's level shut closed.
