Me Too

Ethan

Demyan and I sat in the living room as we ate the stew I had cooked for the both of us. The fire was lit and the crackling of the wood in the fireplace was the only sound that kept on pulling me out of my thoughts.

He had not said a word since he had come back in. In fact he looked drained and he mindlessly ate and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. There was a division between us and it made my heart ache. I had caused all of this because I was too much of a chicken to sit down with Demyan after Monaco and hear him out.

"I'm sorry about everything Demyan," I sighed once we both placed our empty bowls on the coffee table. He hugged his legs close to his chest as he stared at the fire. "I'm sorry for hurting you."

"I just don't trust you won't bail out on me again," he frowned and turned to look at me. "It seems you can't handle stress well. You shut down just as much as me and I don't think I will take it well next time."
