The Grass Was Vibrant

Ethan

I tapped my foot against the cement floor before I looked at my watch for the one hundredth time then breathed through my nose in agitation. Despite it being winter I was sweating under the orange hard hat I was wearing and the chin strap made it even more uncomfortable.

The material of my jersey against my skin had me itchy and despite the large breakfast I ate, I was already hungry. I grabbed my water bottle, took a huge gulp, then sighed once again.

"Ethan, I can't focus with you being so agitated," Vasilisa glared as she looked up from her clipboard. Her curly hair was braided in a french braid and unlike the rest of us, she wore a black hard hat which suited her black lady suit, matching pumps and matching silk blouse. Igor was walking around holding her coat because he wanted to be the perfect gentleman and I believed that was the real reason on why we were running late.
