"You don't have to protect me Malia," I cried as I tightly held her hand, "What I did was terrible."

"But it doesn't make you a terrible person," she softly smiled, "Ethan is family and I know he's always going to be in our lives. I want us to live beautifully and I want our baby to know that he has another support system if you and Ethan work out."

Dad and Pa looked at one another before Dad sighed, "I think it's a very generous decision of you Malia but these things, they come to light."

She nodded, "I understand that but I'm really praying that by then we will have such a great dynamic that I will know how to explain it to them. Yet I would like to keep it buried for as long as possible. I'd do anything, Dad doesn't give up his trust easily and if he were to find out he would probably demand my return to Trinidad."

"You wouldn't want to go back home?" Pa frowned.
