"How is Malia taking it?"

He shrugged, "She blames herself. She feels like she failed me but I understand her. I- I don't want her to feel like she's trapped with me. I know I shouldn't be talking about this to you. It's probably the last thing you want to hear about." He wiped his tears as he chuckled, "I'm sorry."

I shook my head as I gave him a reassuring smile. "The past is the past. You're family Dem. You can talk to me about anything."

His eyes stared into mine and I could see the layers he was trying to peel off of me. To figure out how I really felt but in reality I truly was wearing my heart on my sleeve. I was leaving myself bare to him because no one could ever celebrate someone else's downfall, someone's divorce or a miscarriage.
