Beware of the Carrot

Demyan

I stood at the top of the stairs of the patio as I watched Ethan climb out of his Fortuner dressed in veldskoene, beige ankle socks, his legs fully exposed by the khaki shorts he wore and his top strong half in a green John Deere shirt that had the logo at the front. He wore a matching cap and when he caught me staring he gave me a smile then a subtle wink.

I smiled and sent him a wave before we went to the backseat to get Belli. My heart turned into lumpy custard once he placed her down. Her tiny feet were covered in matching veldskoene. Her adorable chunky thighs that were going to grow to look just as beautiful as her Dad's on display as she wore matching shorts with the same baby version of the t-shirt and a little cap.
