Breathless

Demyan

For a moment I did not recognise the man in front of me. I had gotten so used to the beard and medium length tousled hair that I had to suck in a breath as I walked down the aisle. He looked young, as if ten years had just been taken away from his age and he had just turned thirty!

He looked so much like the old Ethan. The farm boy Ethan I spent years fantasising about. His skin tanned from the sun, his body lean and strong before he got bulky, his chocolate brown hair had hints of blonde from being in the sun for so long and was cut back to its former glory.

Curtain bangs that reached just above his eyebrows were wavy from the humidity, short on the sides and the back of his head. His beard long gone, as if it was never there to begin with, as he was clean shaven and exfoliated. He was dressed in his veldskoene, beige chinos, a navy white dress shirt with a navy blue blazer that matched little Eli's.
