Forcefully Activating Legacy

Opening his eyes, the new god in front of him appears to be confused.

"Huh? You aren't the old bastard," the new god says to no one in particular, inspecting Connor while turning his head left and right, up and down.

Connor felt as though all of his secrets were exposed and this new god could see every one of them.

"Though, you do look a bit like him. But, you aren't him."

Connor tries to swat away the man's arms but all of his efforts are futile. The new god's strength was simply too strong for the current Connor.

"Hey, stop touching me. This… this is not right. I-I want to make a complaint. Sexual assault."

Ignoring Connor's nonsensical complaints, the new god continues to inspect Connor. With his eyes ablaze with blue lightning, he gazes into Connor's immortal soul.

"And your soul... I'll just do this for you," the god mutters to Connor.

The god then takes out the dark red orb Connor had acquired from his ex-girlfriend Vanessa.

Once the orb was fully in the god's grasp, he then imbued divine energy into it.

The orb begins to glow a deep red. A second goes by and the god then floats the orb back into Connor's soul.

Now, fully aware that the god could peer into his soul and even take things out, Connor was confused.

The legacy orb? The orb from back then? No way would it follow him to the past. Is it possible?

A pain unlike no other assaults Connor's entire being. It was so abrupt that Connor almost fainted.

Even with his tough will, the pain was unbearable.

Several minutes go by as the god just stands there and watches everything transpire. A look of admiration on his face.

'With a will like this, he won't have any trouble reaching Rank 6. I'll even give him my blessing,' the god says, admiring Connor's tenacity to keep himself awake and aware.

The god lifts his fingers to Connor's forehead and writes something in an unknown language while also uttering incomprehensible words.

Once done, the visible magic writing shines bright and then quickly fades into Connor's forehead.

"This… what did you do?" Connor asks, breathing lungfuls of air. A look of complete exhaustion overtook his countenance.

He was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that the legacy artifact traveled back to the past with him.

"I just did you a favor. Well, a favor to the old man who left the artifact behind," the god replies to Connor with distant eyes.

"I was only able to activate the legacy orb due to your soul not being fully integrated and concealed by the laws of this world. If you had entered Mytholgia with that legacy in your soul, you would have been immediately annihilated by the god of our world."

Connor didn't know what to say about this revelation. Trying to recall any memory about this god in front of him, Connor just nods his head.

No matter how hard he racked his brain, nothing significant came to mind except a rumor about a man with a purple cape who single-handedly decimated an army of Rank 5 Orc Saints as well as a Rank 6 Orc God.

Despite having some evidence, no one had seen him do it. It was just something someone heard an NPC say.

Now, with the god in front of him, it's difficult not to consider the possibility of this being true.

"Oh… well thank you. Next time, warn me before you do me a 'favor'," Connor thanks with indignation.

"By the way, what's your name? And how were you able to get into this place?"

Ignoring Connor's questions, the god simply replies, "I'll give you a challenge, achieve Rank 6 within 5 years and maybe you'll get the answers to your questions then. Now won't do you any good… If you want to keep your life."

With those words, the god simply flexes his hand and a wormhole suddenly appears.

'Where should I send him? Oh, I know!'

The wormhole somehow rotates 46° to the right and he grabs Connor by the neck and throws him into the wormhole.

Connor didn't even have time to see anything transpire. All he saw was the wormhole and then complete darkness.

Ten minutes later, standing alone on an empty stone road, Connor is filled with ecstasy as he stares at his interface.

'To think an Unranked-ranked Legacy could increase one's strength by this level. And the cherry on top is that it can change one's Job Class. How game-breaking is that?'

One must know that when a player uses a legacy artifact, they are only able to obtain a special class for that class.

For example, as Connor was a Guardian Knight in his future life if he were to acquire an ordinary legacy artifact, he would only acquire a more powerful Job Class that granted him more stat points as he levels up with minimal increase in strength.

Therefore, he would not be able to completely change the class he'd selected and somehow become a swordsman.

He would have to save the legacy until he leveled up to Level 50 to change his class to fit that of whatever legacy he'd acquired.

After calming his mind down, Connor inspects his interface with more clarity.

To think that Connor had a combat rating of 200 at Level 0 was insane.

Why?

It's because Every player started with the same Attributes, the only difference being the allocation of the Free Attribute Points. Those starting attributes never exceeded 5 points in total. However, Connor's started with 200!!!

For each Job, one may notice that a stat point may be more than the others. That is due to the stringency each Job has. The Berserker Job class would initially have a higher strength stat than let's say a swordsman.

Or a Guardian Knight class may have a less endurance stat than a Tank who is known for being able to endure beatings with more HP.

Each player could obtain 5 Free Attribute Points with each increase in Level. With each level rise, the various ways players used these points would result in their unique play style.

In contrast to the norm, Connor started with not only 40 points in each stat but also gained double the stats for each level up than any player.

To put it in perspective, Connor receives 10 Free attribute points for each level. By Level 100, Connor would be ahead of all players who did not have strong Legacy Classes by 500 points with a total of 1000 points.

Now on to how attributes work.

The Strength attribute increases physical attack power, the weight behind each attack, and how much a person can carry. Every strength point is equal to an additional 25kg of force exerted. Thus, physical fitness in the real world is greatly encouraged.

As a result of having better fitness, your avatar will also receive those benefits when the initial body and mental scan is done when logging on to Shattered Realms.

Agility increases attack speed and movement speed. Each point in agility increases the player's speed by 3 inches per second.

Endurance increases maximum HP and stamina. Every one point in endurance is 25 HP and 25 stamina.

During the later stages of the early release of the game, players noticed that they took less damage from players of significant level difference.

If a Level 50 Sword Master were to encounter a Level 80 Tank Star, the swordsman would notice that his attack damage was much lower than when he attacked players of the same level.

This is because endurance not only increases HP and stamina but also increases the player's physical defense.

Defense is a hidden stat that cannot be increased by applying attribute points to it.

Only when the player's overall stat points reach a certain threshold, would they receive that qualitative change. By the time a player reached Level 20, they could then challenge their Rank 1 promotion quest.

Since damage reduction, for a better sense of words, is granted after Rank-ups, so does damage increase. Those with higher Rank will have their damage dealt increased to those ranking below them.

If endurance increases HP, then Intelligence increases magical attack power and maximum MP. While Vitality increases the recovery rate of MP and HP.

Therefore, every Job emphasizes different Attributes, and players would all have their unique play styles. A Berserker could place attribute points on his main stats such as STR and INT.

This particular path would allow a Berserker to boast heavy STR but to have an increased INT would allow this Berserke to go from a crackhead with a pipe...

To a crackhead with a raging flamethrower.
