Seeded Child

Does Omar now retire and let the new generation take over? Have they always been this tyrannical?

Omar seeing Connor breaking the Magic Arrays was akin to a police officer watching a serial killer breaking dozens of handcuffs one by one right in front of himself.

This instilled a sort of strange feeling of trepidation in Omar's heart.

"You see, Omar, I am not what you think. I am a Child of God," Connor says to Omar, a smile on his face.

Shock!!!

"G-G-God's Child?! How are you this strong and knowledgeable in Arrays? All of you should be like children, gawking and exploring this world as though it is a playground."

Claiming to be God's Children as an NPC would get them permanently deleted and it was considered taboo amongst themselves as only Players would be called God's Children.

The AIs needed an identity and excuse as to why people just started spawning in droves like cockroaches, looking at them as though they weren't real and just things to be ignored.

To them, the Players had descended into the "lower realm" world of Mytholgia to compete in a power struggle.

The strongest of God's Children started creating factions "Guilds" to establish their might and rise in fame.

This descent happened every so often and when it did, their entire world changed.

"Well, you see, Omar, I'm a bit of a special case. I am what you may call a Seeded Child. One that is a major step above my other brothers and sisters," Connor says this while knowing he's just talking out of his ass.

What Seeded Child? Connor may as well slap Omar with sh*t if he's going to be keep talking it.

"A Seeded Child. How terrifying! You must be amongst the top of our human race's younger generation even though you're yet to ascend to Rank 1. Stay here."

Finally letting his guard down, Omar quickly runs out a door behind Connor.

Seconds later, he comes back with a scroll in hand. Omar then tosses it to Connor.

Confused, Connor inspects it.

[Legacy Scroll: Hephaestus's Chosen

Job: Vulcan's Heir

Grade: ????

Description: This is an unranked Legacy Scroll taken from the Ruins of Hephaestus. Grants the holder a Legacy of Hephaestus, the Smithing God.

Would the Player like to activate the Job Class, Vulcan's Heir?

Yes/No?]

The look of shock was apparent on his face as Omar observed him.

With a helpless smile, Omar says, "I guess you've figured out what item that is."

Connor looks up at him, beaming from ear to ear.

'F*ck!!! I don't even have to activate this Legacy Scroll to know that it is undoubtedly better than any Legendary Legacy in the Server. Being an Heir to any god in Shattered Realms is akin to being their Son or Daughter. This is simply unscientific!!' Connor says, exploding in his mind.

"Yes, I did. Thank you, Omar. But, you still haven't told me how to repair your damaged mana core."

Omar ponders a bit before answering Connor.

"To repair my mana core, at the very least, you would need a Radiant Dusk Crystal, 400K Star Crystals, and the liquified mana of a Dragon," Omar relays to Connor, eyes full of anguish and frustration at having such a difficult task for the restoration of his core.

Connor was shooketh.

There was a way for Sentient Beings to restore their mana cores the entire time?

No Player in the future ever found a way to repair their mana cores due to there being no information on how to.

Mana core damage was essentially the same as Soul Damage. One affected the quantity and quality of a Sentient Being's mana.

The other affected the mental strength and mental level of Players and NPCs. Major cases of Soul Damage even went as far as to make the avatar of whatever Player or NPC appear to be in a state of mental retardation.

Probability speaking, it would be true. Taking damage to the soul in-game is the same as taking a hit directly to the brain. Your real life brain would be affected.

No further explanation is needed to iterate how important it is to have Dietary Solutions in hand and someone by your side to assist in your recovery.

Some people had never recovered their mental strength and remained as regular citizens.

Connor then took his thoughts away from the realistic side of Shattered Realms and focused on the system notification he'd gotten.

[System Notification: You have learned of the way to restore a Sentient Being's Mana Core.

Rewards: "Mana Core Expert" Title, Epic Mana Reparation Quest, Advanced Array Knowledge, Mana Evolution, Glasses, +1 Level.

Note: Player Nebula, you are quite a greedy one. Please leave some quests for other fated Players. The System may have to nerf you. As always, happy Leveling.]

Chuckling, Connor just shrugs his shoulders.

'Hehe. I'll remain stingy. I want all of the opportunities my enemies had gotten and use them for my gain and faction. Well, I gotta first make a guild. Though, I did get an Epic Quest from Omar,' Connor says to himself, then looked at Omar with inquisition.

Who was this NPC that could create a Rank 5 potion at Peak Rank 1? Even knowing the way to restore a mana core? Why tf didn't he hire someone to find the materials and help him long ago?

This baffled Connor, instinct told him to avoid peeking in places he shouldn't. Therefore, he decided to keep his mouth shut concerning Omar's identity.

"Okay, I will work hard to find the items needed to repair your core. However, what irks me is how are you going to perform the procedure on your own. It's going to be quite long and painful."

Omar does not answer right away, instead, he smiles gently before opening his mouth.

"This, Young Warrior, will be entirely in your hands. Find the suitable Children to help me in the Transformative Core Ritual. I need a Child specializing in Array Formations and I also need a Child who's mastered the Synthesis ability to the Expert or Master level.

Meanwhile, you will be the one controlling, providing, and guiding the mana throughout the entire ritual. Get as strong as possible within a year. Or else you can forget about learning the ritual for I would be dead."

To this point, Omar hands Connor a scroll.

[Tier 3 Royal Teleportation Scroll]

'F*ck!! These rich NPC bastards'

With a standard Tier 3 teleportation scroll, Connor could instantly appear anywhere within a 2,500km distance.

With that amount of coverage, Connor could pretty much appear at the edge of the closest Major City within the borders of Bankai.

Unlike the standard teleportation scrolls, this Royal Tier 3 Teleportation Scroll could go upwards of 10,000km.

The person who crafted this scroll was a godsent-certified genius. He quickly puts the Legacy Scroll and the Teleportation Scroll into his inventory.

"Enough for now, your journey in our world hasn't even begun. A Child with your fate will go through many difficult battles. Anyways, off you go," Omar warns Connor, to which he promptly delivers a palm to Connor's chest, almost reminiscent of a certain bald lady from some old comic action movie.

Connor lets out a scream as his vision extends outward while also being sucked through a sort of wormhole-like construct.

What seemed like forever later, Connor found himself back outside Omar's shop in the same position. He even had to look around and make sure he wasn't in an illusion.

He then checked his inventory to make sure his past encounter with Omar wasn't fake.

Seeing the two new items in his inventory, Connor laid all doubts to rest.

At this point, Connor could safely say he could get to the capital without any long travels which leaves him all the time in the world to level up and deal with things in the upcoming days.

The in-game currency exchange will take effect in about 5 real days. The quickest money grab he could think of would be in 1 natural day.

Connor had to act fast before the gold coin prices would explode. At that time everything would be up… including his stocks.

And with his head still pounding, Connor logs off.
