the mysterious man who became my angel

Charlie just kept quiet letting Angelica rest while drinking little by little so she could calm down more.

Angelica sneered every time she swallowed the drink which was wine.

"Um, I should have just had some juice or mineral water so you could relax," Charlie said with an uncomfortable look. "I'll order now," he said again, standing up.

"No," shouted Angelica, grabbing Charlie's hand and pulling him back to sit down. "You don't need to order another drink for me, this is enough," she said worriedly.

"Ok..."

.Angelica put the glass of drink on the table then leaned her body on the sofa, and just kept silent thinking about what would happen after this. Suddenly she thought of her mother who was at her uncle's house, and maybe he would be very angry with her.

'Sorry, Mom... if I could, I would leave without having to get you into trouble like this,' she thought with teary eyes.

"Okay ..." Charlie sighed, positioning himself to face Angelica. "At the beach, I saw that guy being so rude to you.., then tonight you looked like you were run away and the thugs were chasing you... I was very curious, I know I shouldn't have to deal with this but I am already involved... I can't rest easy if I can't find out what happened to you."

Angelica frowned and glanced at Charlie, as if unsure whether to tell the truth or not.

"You can share with me, maybe I can help," Charlie said with a reassuring look.

"This problem is complicated, I can't seem to find a way out other than leaving," replied Angelica, bending her face. "My mother struggling with lung cancer, she needs a lot of money for medical expenses. And that coincides with the condition of my uncle's bar going bankrupt... so we really needed a lot of money... but my uncle didn't allow me to work in another city, and instead, he received a lot of money from a man who liked me... like it or not I had to accept that man... he proposed to me," she continued while remembering their faces inside that story.

"That means your uncle sold you out... but if that guy loves you and that he can solve your problems, then that's fine," Charlie replied with a shrug.

Angelica smiled faintly . ."No... I can't love him even though he gave us a lot of money."

"Is he an old man with a pot belly?"

Angelica chuckled, then shook her head. "He's not an old man, maybe even your age."

"I'm 27 years old," said Charlie.

Angelica nodded. "Maybe he's 27 or 28."

"Then what about you? I mean, how old are you?" Charlie wondered, looking at Angelica's face which caught his attention, especially her sexy lips with natural color. He couldn't deny that he wanted to feel those lips again, maybe even more than just lips. 'No, I can't like it... It will be bad for her or maybe she'll think of me as a jerk," he thought worriedly.

"Next month I will be 25 years old," said Angelica. "To be exact on September 24," she continued.

"Wow…" Charlie smiled. "You should get something beautiful for your birthday..."

"I wish nothing but my mother to be healthy and I can get away from this place... I really can't marry that man."

"You said he is young, I believe Maybe he is handsome and rich..."

"Yes, that's true, but he's like a devil," said Angelica while glancing at the dim atmosphere of the room with orange lighting. "He was very rude to my mother and uncle, like not respecting them. And he also seemed to treat me as his slave....sometimes he's sweet but sometimes he's also very rude."

"Stupid guy!" Charlie whispered irritably.

"Sometimes I don't know what he wants from me. He gives me a lot of money he wants to marry me but he also behaves so rudely... this doesn't seem like a relationship with love, but like slavery perhaps....I don't know how to describe the meaning of this relationship because he is so strange," said Angelica again, then glanced at Charlie who was focused on looking at her until she was a little nervous. "Thank you for helping me... Maybe once I get out of here and meet my friends, we'll head to San Diego," she continued.

"San Diego?" Charlie frowned.

Angelika nodded. "Incidentally my friend works at a company there..maybe I'll find a place to live nearby and then also find a job there... I'll only come back here again when I have enough money to give back to that jerk... I don't want to be indebted to him or he will continue to force me to marry him and regard me as his slave."

Charlie nodded his head.

Angelica fell silent again, unable to stop thinking about her mother.

"Wait, but where is your father?" Charlie asked.

"He's dead," answered Angelica with a flat look. "To me he is dead," she continued, as if to emphasize that she did not want her father.

Charlie frowned as he looked at Angelica seriously, trying to make out the meaning of her answer.

"he died and That's for you...so does that mean he's still alive?"

"Can we not talk about that?" Angelica asked and immediately stood up. "I have to go ..."

"No..." Charlie pulled Angelica until she fell in his lap. they stared so deeply with their faces close together, he could even feel her breath which smelled of wine. 'oh shit, Why is she so beautiful.'

"I have to go..." Angelica noticed Charlie's strange stare and quickly got up from his lap. "Thank you for helping me but I won't let you make me debt language... I don't want to be your slave!" She immediately took her bag and was about to leave but again Charlie stopped her.

Charlie grabbed Angelica's hand and looked at her seriously. "I will help you and I will not assume that you owe me, and there will be no slaves!" He said softly but firmly

Angelica paused, looking into Charlie's eyes as if assessing whether he might be sincere or just going to keep her trapped like she was with Darren.

"Trust me..."

"How?"

"Just give me one day... I will help you to leave this place without worrying about your mother... I am sure that bastard will be very angry that you are gone, and he will vent his anger on your mother and your uncle will also be angry on your mother "said Charlie while remembering Robert who dragged Angelica on the beach this morning. He caressed the girl's cheek, then took a short breath, Even his heart seemed to be beating fast at this time but he tried to hold himself back. 'I can't let her suffer… no, she doesn't deserve that. Maybe can't have it, but I can save it,' he thought.

"How did you know my uncle would be mad at my mother?" Angelica whispered.

"Because I know he's bad. If he was good, he wouldn't have dragged you on the beach this morning, he wouldn't have slapped your smooth cheeks," explained Charlie, then closed his eyes, and immediately distanced himself from Angelica.

Angelica paused, looking at Charlie in surprise.

Charlie picked up his cell phone on the table. "I'll call a confidant of mine to prepare the money for that man, so he won't bother you or your family anymore."

"You can't do that!" cried Angelica as she approached Charlie. "I don't want to owe you and it's a lot of money anyway!"

"I'm not saying that you will owe me. I will give you whatever amount of money so that you and your mother can rest easy... don't you want to be free from this problem?"

Angelica was silent, unable to deny that she wanted to be free but to her this was crazy because she was new to Charlie and it was very strange for her to receive so much money from him.

"Hello, Jon," Charlie said when he connected to someone. "Prepare one million dollars," he continued.

"Hey?" Angelica immediately pushed Charlie. "One million dollars is too much!"

Charlie stays away from Angelica and continues his conversation with people who are not named.

"Gosh...." Angelica was confused and kept looking at Charlie who seemed unstoppable now.

"Okay, tomorrow afternoon... I'll wait for you at the villa," Charlie said then ended the call. He put his cell phone back into his trouser pocket, then approached Angelica who looked at him worriedly. "Your problem will be solved tomorrow," he said with a smile.

."But why are you doing this to me? One million dollars is not small!"

"And for me, it's just a little, I have a lot of money... maybe I'm richer than that man," Charlie said casually then sat on the sofa. "You don't need to be confused about that...I won't demand you to return the money or make you feel like you owe it or will..looking down on you... Not at all."

Angelica was silent in frustration, instead of being happy she was afraid and felt strange.

Charlie glanced at Angelica who was frozen opposite him. "Don't be confused, you better think about what you are going to do in Chicago... I happen to be back there the day after tomorrow..."

"Do you live there too?" Angelica asked.

Charlie nodded his head.

"Um..."Angelica approached Charlie and then sat beside him. "I'll be with you... I mean.. um, maybe I'll work in your house as a maid... you don't have to pay me... let's just say that's how I pay that million dollars." she said anxiously and nervously.

"Charlie drank the wine and then smiled faintly. "A maid's salary in 1 year will not reach 1 million dollars... so the money I give you tomorrow should be charity money because I care about fellow human beings... and if you want to work as my maid, I will be really happy to have you... I'll still give you a salary."

"But ..."

"That's my decision, by the way... I would be very happy if you agreed. Making me happy is your way of repaying me for what I'm doing right now," said Charlie casually then handed Angelica a glass of wine. "Instead of being confused, we better celebrate your freedom," he continued.

Angelica took the glass of wine and drank it with Charlie. She was very surprised, didn't know what to say, Charlie was like a mysterious who turned into an Angel for her.

'I hope there are no bad intentions behind all this... after all, this is just my way of being able to go to work without making mother suffer here,' she thought.
