I know, i'm nothing to you ...

At 3 p.m.,

Angelica didn't know what to do, feeling so lonely waiting for Charlie, who had been talking to some visitor since 1 o'clock. Occasionally, she left the room, peeking into the meeting room just to catch a glimpse of him through the glass wall, wanting to join but once again remembering that she wasn't his lover, fiancée, or wife.

"Okay, I should call Kate. Maybe she's free," she said, throwing herself onto the bed, then retrieving her phone from the pocket of the maroon dress she was wearing with open sleeves.

"Kate... you finally answered me..."

"Who is this?" Kate asked from the phone.

Angelica immediately rolled her eyes. "Oh God, why can't you recognize me? Is my voice on the phone so different from reality?"

"Oh... you're Angelica... hahaha... sorry!" Kate chuckled. "I didn't expect this to be your number... I don't like answering unknown numbers... so, I haven't been picking up."

"You're outrageous!" Angelica exclaimed, looking at the ceiling. "You should get rid of that habit because if someone from your family loses their phone and borrows someone else's to call you... it would be really bad if you keep not answering just because you don't know whose number it is!" she continued, annoyed.

"Hmmm... I don't know, I don't want to bother with it... besides, you're not calling just to scold me, right? Now tell me, how's your job at Charlie's mansion?" Kate asked instead.

Angelica smiled thinly. "You think I'm working?"

"Umm... let me guess..."

"Okay..." Angelica smiled, gazing at the room's ceiling while imagining what had happened in that room last night when she was with Charlie. She didn't know why, but she felt proud of it, and she wanted Kate to know that her suspicions about Charlie had been true all along. Maybe she should make him comfortable so he wouldn't let her go.

"Maybe he just wants you to stay there so you can be free from Darren, and... maybe he's teasing you," Kate began guessing.

"Hmmm, you're getting close..."

"So, what's happening?"

Angelica sighed. "This is as you might expect... turns out he's interested in me, and he won't let me work here... He even introduced me as his friend."

"As a friend?" Kate sounded surprised. "I thought he would quickly ask you to be in a special relationship..."

"He did..." Angelica confirmed Kate's assumption. "We had sex last night... I don't know why I couldn't refuse, maybe because we've kissed many times before."

"Oh my God... that's good news!" Kate enthused.

Angelica smiled thinly. "It's good but not so good... I told you before... he's never been interested in marriage or dating. It's really hard to explain. He says he likes me and doesn't want me to leave him or turn away from him... he wants me to be his, and I also feel that he's mine... but there's no official relationship between us. I don't know how to handle all of this, but I'm happy, sad, and cautious now," she said anxiously, recalling her mother's advice again.

"Don't think too far because you've just met. Of course, he needs time to decide if he wants you as a girlfriend or even to propose to you..."

"No, Kate, I don't think that will ever happen," Angelica said, not giving Kate a chance to finish her sentence. "He seems so anti-label in relationships... he's said many times that he doesn't like labels in relationships, and it means more if we acknowledge our relationship from our hearts because no one else can change that..."

"Angel... listen to me..."

"Okay," Angelica whispered.

"You don't need to stress about all of this because time keeps moving like a wheel that keeps turning. There will be times when the situation changes, and so will his mindset," Kate said, sounding as calm as a love advisor.

"And then?"

"What you need to do right now is to continuously try to make him happy and comfortable with you, so he won't get bored with you or think about leaving you. When you truly get his heart, then you have the power... you can threaten to leave him if he still doesn't want a label in your relationship. Maybe he'll abandon his principles so as not to lose you, and then you might date or even get married... nothing is impossible..." Kate sounded so convincing, and this technique made a lot of sense, but it still made Angelica smile thinly.

"I think that's difficult... he's never even said 'I love you' to me," she said with doubt.

"It will happen, don't worry. There's still tomorrow and beyond," Kate reassured emphatically.

"What if I become the victim?" Angelica asked, tilting her head, and glancing at the closed door, and all she could think of was Charlie in that meeting. "What if he's never afraid of losing me even though I've locked his heart? What if it turns out he doesn't want a relationship with me because he might be hiding a relationship with another girl... Maybe he's treating me like this because I'm just his mistress... like what my father did to my mother... I'm really scared, Kate... I don't want to be deceived and fall in love with him when I can't have him or maybe he..."

"Angel, please..." Kate stopped Angelica.

Angelica fell silent, suddenly feeling even more anxious with the thoughts that came up about Charlie.

"Don't think too far... If he's like your father, then you have to show that you can be the winner in this love battle... This world isn't as narrow as a neem leaf... he may be perfect, giving you everything, but if one day he truly looks bad to you, I'm sure you can still love another man... But I hope that doesn't happen because you two are a perfect match... you have to be optimistic, do your best... don't overthink because it will only make you dizzy... don't look back, don't look too far ahead, do your best for what's in front of you now... use that mindset to keep going!" Kate came back with her advice, and Angelica remained silent, not knowing what to say because what she said was true, but it was hard for her to do.

Click...

Angelica's heart jumped when she heard the door open, and her eyes found Charlie entering and closing the door again.

"Kate, he's here. I'll call you later," she said, moving to sit.

"Good luck, and don't overthink!" Kate replied.

Angelica immediately ended the call, then placed her phone beside her and welcomed Charlie, who approached her with a warm smile.

"You don't have to end that call just because I'm here... don't be shy around me," Charlie said, then stroked Angelica's chin while looking at her beautiful face.

Angelica smiled thinly. "Um, that was my friend..."

"You mean Kate?"

Angelica nodded.

Charlie bent down to kiss Angelica on the lips, then sat beside her, wrapping his arm around her.

"I know that girls like to gossip about the guys around them, about the ones near them... you can do that," he said.

Angelica glanced at Charlie with a somewhat awkward feeling. "Are you okay if she finds out about us?" she asked.

"It's okay, but don't let her tell your mom or spread our relationship on social media or anything," Charlie replied.

Angelica furrowed her brow. "Why?"

"Because it's not important; I don't like showing off our affection... and your mother will also know that...."

Angelica fell silent again, suddenly afraid that Charlie might already have another love and she was just a fling, which is why he didn't want this relationship to be exposed on social media or anywhere.

"I'm doing this for your good," Charlie whispered, then kissed Angelica's temple. "Don't think I'm using you as a fling..."

"How do you know I'm thinking that?" Angelica asked.

Charlie smirked, turning his face away. "I can read someone's mind..."

"You're lying!" Angelica immediately pushed Charlie.

Charlie laughed and looked at Angelica's pouting lips.

"You think I'm joking?"

"But I'm not joking..."

"Never mind..." Angelica stood up. "I'm dizzy!" She was about to walk away, but Charlie quickly pulled her back onto his lap.

"You're not leaving me!" Charlie exclaimed, then kissed Angelica's neck.

"Charlie..." Angelica sighed in resignation.

"Lemme enjoys this beautiful body," Charlie murmured, hugging Angelica's neck and aggressively kissing her cheek.

"I don't want to, I'm tired!" Angelica pushed Charlie away.

Charlie fell silent and gazed at Angelica's face, which was so close to his but showed a frustrated expression.

"Do you think I'm a liar? Do I look like a guy who has a girlfriend everywhere? Don't you know how messed up and fragile I am because of my issues, to the point where I didn't want to date anyone for 2 years?" he wondered, raising his eyebrows.

Angelica remained silent, looking into Charlie's eyes to find an answer to his question.

"You should know that a guy with messed-up feelings wouldn't bother secretly dating multiple girls... it would only create new problems, doesn't that make sense?" Charlie asked again.

Angelica slowly nodded her head.

"If you're still unsure about me, we can go to my sister's mansion... you'll meet her... and she'll be very surprised because I brought you there, it's the first time," Charlie said, then lifted Angelica from his lap. "We can go there now," he continued, about to stand up, but Angelica immediately pulled him back to sit down.

"No!"

"What?"

"We don't need to go there," Angelica said, looking at Charlie with an expression that couldn't hide her fear. "I'm not ready to meet your sister... besides, she will ask who I am to you, and... and I don't know what to answer," she continued.

"Just say you're my friend and we're getting to know each other," Charlie replied thoughtfully.

"Okay..."

Angelica smiled faintly, but her heart was deeply disappointed with Charlie's words as if he lacked confidence in calling her his partner.

'I shouldn't be sad... after all, he never said he loves me!' she thought firmly to herself, feeling like burying her hopes for Charlie.
