"So, you guys just officially started dating," Roger said.

"Yeah..." Ryan nodded. "But we got to know each other a few months ago when I started working with her boss," he continued.

Roger nodded his head. 'She still chose him, and I'm still the annoying guy to her. I shouldn't have been so confident that she'd accept me,' he thought, disappointed.

Kate released her embrace of Ryan, walked towards the door, opened it, and turned to Roger.

Roger was surprised that Kate was asking him to leave.

"Love, you don't have to ask him to leave," Ryan said as he approached Kate. "He's also my friend, and it just so happens we haven't talked in a while," he added.
