With slow steps, Louis entered his room, observing Miranda sitting at the vanity table, ready for bed in her black pajamas, letting her blonde hair fall loosely.

"You've been gone since yesterday, and it wasn't for work," Miranda said, her gaze arrogant as she looked at herself in the mirror.

Louis quickly took off his black jacket and placed it over the back of the sofa.

"I did something for Isabella," he said.

"What? What can you do for someone no longer in this world?"

"I... I'll ensure Charlie belongs to no one... So... She won't be sad," Louis explained anxiously, approaching Miranda and leaning his hands on the table while his eyes glanced at the mirror. "I can make sure that girl stays away from Charlie," he added.

Miranda smiled faintly, then discarded a cotton ball into a small trash bin near the table.

"I didn't think you'd do that..."

"I will..."
