HER NORMAL LIFE.

Mei Lin sat in her chamber, engaged in her studies, surrounded by the gentle glow of lamplight. The place felt snug and familiar, a haven from the outer world. A strange sensation came over her as she dove into her books, like a whisper from a forgotten dream. It was as if a piece of her memory had become dislodged, and she saw two attractive men engaging in a furious conflict against a backdrop of fire and mayhem. Their faces were covered in shadows, and their shapes were strange. It gave her a shudder, and she shook her head, dismissing it as a figment of her mind.

Her phone rang just as she returned to her studies, disturbing the stillness in the room. Her elder sister, who lived in New Jersey, was the one. Mei Lin responded with a warm grin, feeling an instant connection that transcended the kilometers between them.

"Sis, are you okay?" Her sister's worried voice came through on the phone.

"I'm perfectly fine, sis," Mei Lin giggled softly. You know how it goes, I'm just buried in my books."

They exchanged greetings and caught up on each other's lives. Her sister told stories about living in New Jersey, while Mei Lin discussed her studies and the busy metropolis of New York. The talk flowed naturally, demonstrating the relationship between siblings.

Mei Lin looked out her window as the phone call ended, her thoughts wandering. The rain continued to fall in torrents, putting a gloomy pall over the city. She sighed, longing for a break from her studies and a taste of the colourful street food shops around the block.

The rain stopped immediately, almost magically, as if in answer to her quiet plea, leaving the city drenched in a fresh serenity. Mei Lin's eyes widened in amazement, her skepticism clashing with the incomprehensible.

She dismissed it as a coincidence, a natural occurrence. She put on her jacket and stepped out into the now-rain-free night, eager to sample the flavors of the city streets. Mei Lin walked through the city streets, her senses soothed by the soft tune streaming through her headphones. Unbeknownst to her, the universe outside her perspective was engulfed in a raging fight, a cosmic conflict fueled by the very essence of her being.

Pausing by a roadside vendor, her curiosity was piqued by the aromatic allure of freshly prepared ramyeon. She ordered a steaming bowl, watching as the vendor deftly crafted the delicious meal. Little did she realize that her presence had drawn the attention of every young man in the vicinity.

Mei Lin covered her unusual features from outsiders by drawing her hood low. Her bright blue hair and beautiful azure eyes had always set her apart from the rest from the day she was born. It had been both a blessing and a curse, bringing notice and fascination wherever she went.

As she received her bowl of ramyeon, the young guys surrounding sent inquisitive glances her way, their faces a mix of astonishment and fascination. Mei Lin was used to these brief bursts of attention, which she liked to keep to herself.

She resumed her leisurely stroll through the downtown streets, the calm music in her ears creating a soothing backdrop to her evening. The world around her was teeming with hidden energies and disguised fates, combining in ways she could never have imagined. Mei Lin wasted no time in preparing herself a steamy cup of coffee once she returned home. The rich perfume permeated the air, energizing her senses as she began her evening's work.

With determination, she began to gather her thoughts and meticulously craft the journals she would submit for the upcoming bidding process at her office. Mei Lin was an integral part of her company's proposal writing team, and the contract they were bidding for held significant importance. Her dedication to the task was unwavering.

As the hours slipped away, Mei Lin poured her heart and soul into the project, determined to make it as compelling and persuasive as possible. The soft glow of her desk lamp cast a warm halo over her diligent efforts as she meticulously structured her arguments and refined her ideas.

The night wore on, the world outside her window cloaked in darkness, but Mei Lin's determination remained unshaken. She continued to work diligently, pausing only when the last sentence was written, the final page complete.

It was late, far into the night, when Mei Lin finally allowed herself to rest. With a sense of accomplishment, she closed her laptop and retired to her peaceful slumber, her dreams dancing with the possibilities that awaited her proposal in the light of day. The next morning arrived with a jolt as Mei Lin's alarm clock sounded, and she realized she had overslept. Panic set in as she hurriedly threw back the covers and raced to the bathroom for a quick shower.

The water rushed over her, invigorating her senses and helping to shake off the lingering remnants of sleep. She emerged from the bathroom with newfound determination, her heart pounding in her chest.

With haste, she dashed to the kitchen, expertly preparing a cup of coffee that would hopefully jumpstart her day. Mei Lin took a hurried sip, feeling the caffeine course through her veins as she gathered her belongings. She was running late, and every second counted.

She bolted out of her apartment and into the bustling city, the urgency of time propelling her forward. But just as she reached the bus station, a thought struck her—she had left without applying any makeup.

With a sigh, she rushed back to her apartment, grabbing a few essentials. Time was slipping away, and Mei Lin knew she couldn't afford to be late for the bidding meeting. Once she had her makeup in hand, she raced back to the bus station, the heart still racing.

Luckily, as she boarded the bus, she found herself right on time. Seated on the bus, Mei Lin used the journey to her advantage, deftly applying her light makeup, ensuring she looked her best for the important meeting that awaited her at the office.

Not knowing an event that will change her whole life is on the way.
