Inside a Beast's skin

'I'm not the sharpest sword in your kit, Kyrie, but I can see stuff too.' She wasn't human, but she saw his plights better than any of his so-called peers. This place hurt him as much as it assured his heart of a future for his species.

A future he could reach, maybe, after achieving his dreams. It was a beautiful sight if it weren't so pitiful as well. Kyrie stared at them with so much yearning and want, like a child staring at its mother in search of attention.

But Kyrie was different. While he yearned for another human's touch, he kept his distance. Staring, binding his time as if he were of another species. Something different from the others of his species.

She agreed with that notion to a degree. Kyrie was different from the others down to his blood, sharing the darkness of the Wolf Prince.
