Spencer's Interlude

Spencer opened his eyes painfully, a stark white lightbulb above his head, a sterile white room was all he saw, as well as the furniture beyond a plastic wall, where his fiancee waited, and a few doctors stood by her side.

She cried, her eyes sullen and red. Spencer couldn't close his mouth, a tub entering his throat. His body was immobilized as well. 'It… Kyrie.' The last memory in his head was the deadly ray shot by Kyrie.

This attack almost annihilated his body. How he survived was a surprise even to Spencer. Moving his eye to the side, he saw a bag filled with the blue liquid. The same as the one in the vial Cain gave him. 'Then it is  her job.' That crazy scientist was in the city.

Spencer couldn't be surprised. If Cain was there, so would his wife. 'At least you did something  useful and kept me alive.' It was a pitiful, pathetic state, but Spencer was alive to fight another day.
