Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Two days passed by yet she still didn't see Lucian, today she is going to give it her all ,she has to see Lucian.

She arrived at the gate of the Henderson corporation early but was still not allowed in, the guards denied her entrance.

Finally in the evening, she had lost all hope, dejected and sad as she walked through the bustling streets.

The evening sun casted long shadow on the ground as she walked by, the streets was filled with bustling activities, occasional honking of cars and passer-bys , people's rushing towards their various destination to the embrace of their loved ones but here she was alone and ashamed of herself, she was the crux of all that had happened.

Her family had been ruined all because of the so-called love and unwavering trust she had for Leonard.

Just then a black Porsche stop besides her , lowering down the window, peering in she could recognize the driver face ,she was the lady she saw the other day at the Henderson corporation,the lady who was allowed in whilst she was standing outside.

"Miss Mia ,pleas get in", Emily said with a smile.

Mia was surprised as the stranger knew her name, after a while of hesitation she got into the car.

The car stopped at a teahouse, they both got in and entered the reserved private room.

"Forgive my manners, I'm Emily Lucian's friend", Emily introduced and Mia eyes brighten up in an instant, her lost hope had been rejuvenated.

"Did Lucian sent you to me?, That damn Mark he kept restricting me all these while", Mia asked excitedly.

"No, I'm afraid Lucian doesn't even know you're seeking for his audience", Emily replied earnestly.

"Huh, I thought. ."

"Mark kept restricting you out of good intentions, it won't be good if Lucian swirled at any of your words, he has duties and responsibilities to uphold, thousands of people relies on him to live but I think it's wrong tho, he has the right to live his life the way he wants and not be hounded by the duties and obligations", Emily paused sipping on her tea with a graceful composure.

"Ever since ive known Lucian, I think you're the only one who has a grip over him", Emily continued.

"The first time I met him, it was love at first sight, we got along and were best of friends, u confessed my feeling to him but then he said", Emily sighed and Mia gazed at her curiously awaiting her continuation.

"I'm engaged, I was surprised and told him to stop joking around but did you know what he said?".

"I am truly engaged to her, even though we're not engaged in person she owns my heart, even though she doesn't know of my feelings she's the one and only lady I'll ever love", Emily continued her voice laden with a tinge of pain, frustration and vulnerability.

"Even till now you're still the only lady in his heart, throughout all the years in school he never dated any lady he was even rumored to be gay which I know it's otherwise, it's just that he had dedicated his whole being to you".

"I . ."

"Don't interrupted", Emily gently chided the plain and expressionless Mia. "If I stop now I might not be able to muster anymore courage to continue.

"Even until now, he loves you dearly, he had always been protecting you from behind the shadows, at all cost.

"Three years ago you were cornered by some group of gangsters at the highway, in this world of ours do you think someone would just step out and protect you even at the risk of their own lives, no, it was all thanks to his unwavering protection, even while he wasn't around, your well-being was his main priority".

"I'm sure with this you can recall some other incidents, do you know how much he blamed himself when he discovered that you had transferred your shares to Leonard, he blamed himself endlessly for not protecting you well enough", Emily took a while to pause while Mia stared at her feeling guilty.

"But recently, I told him not to dally with you any longer he should move on as he has literally done everything one could have wished for in this world for you", she paused and Mia gazed at her anxious and worried.

"You're curious about my actions, isn't it obvious enough I did it for myself, perhaps if he moves on without you there might be a chance for me but I realize feelings can't be forced, he sees me as an important and close friend, as a companion and as a sister, I don't want to lose all our relationship and discard all ties and force myself on him ".

"Just like he said, I've also realized that I'm this world we have the absolute desire to yearn and possess everything but not everything is meant to be ours, we should resign to fate and not lose ourselves in the corroded desire to posses everything".

"So, . ."

"So?. ."

The two ladies chorused and they both laughed which eased the tension a bit.

"So, I've decided to play the matchmaker", Emily smiled.

"Matchmaker!".

"I'll help him get the beauty as he desires and pair you two together".

"I must say Miss Emily, you're the thoughtful, kind and caring soul everyone could ever wish for", Mia complimented with a huge grin. "You're selfless and care for everybody around you, however I don't think I deserve him, I appreciate all his kind gestures over the years".

"You don't need to deserve him, I know you don't to be sincere', Emily interrupted quite bluntly. "But all that matters is that he longs for you so I've decided to help him".

"You mean you want us to become a couple??", Mia asked her voice laden with skeptism and caution and Emily nod her head affirmatively.

"But I don't think I can ever truly love anyone again and besides judging from his personality, he's stubborn and rigid, no one can change his mind once he's decided on something",Mia added worriedly.

"Not when it concerns what you cherish the most, a little bit of wheedling is all you need to do, I'll give you this one chance", Emily continued. "The outcome of it all depends on you and how you make use of this opportunity, goodbye".

"So what do I do?",Mia asked Emily who was about to leave engulfed with determination to save her company.

Emily moved closer to her and whispered in a hushed tone.

"Isn't this the same as selling myself . ."

"That I don't know, you'll figure it out after weighing the pros and cons, good luck", Emily replied and left.

Mia sat down in the same spot lost in thought, after a while of deliberation she decided to give it a shot afterall who knows if Leonard might come up with another planand Lucian is the only one that can protect her from him and besides since Lucian loves her so much he definitely won't let her suffer or lack anything, she could consider giving her body to him as a repayment for all his undeniable and unwavering protection and provision over the years.
