Officially Disowned
The party began and ended on a solemn note, early the next day all guests and relatives disperse the family manor.
"And that is how I got married". Mia concluded with a deep sigh.
Sprawled on the sofa, she was decked in a pink floral dress and before her on the opposite sofa was Aunt Miller and her ailing father who had just arrived after a long while of treatment in the town.
Mr O'Connor sat quietly listening to Mia's tale. "Because of me my daughter . ."
"No Father , I did it willingly and besides I was responsible for everything that had happened. I placed my trust in Leonard and was betrayed but come to think of it, it's also a blessing in disguise".
" If i let go of such a good and responsible man like Lucian , I'm not sure I'll be able to find another man who'll treat me like he does in this lifetime ".
" If he dares to bully you , just let me know '. Mr O'Connor added quite sternly.
"Of course not dad, he's especially caring and protective about me". Mia blushed.
"That's good then ,as long as you two are good and get along well. The feelings will eventually appear, marriage is all about lifetime dedication". Aunt Miller smiled patting her shoulder.
"But if things go awry come back to me , your happiness matters the most to me". Mr O'Connor added protectively.
"Sure dad, I'll take a nap for a while". Mia replied and paddled towards the stairs.
"Oh, our dearest Miss O'Connor is back home". Eddie snickered as she walked down the stairs stopping before Mia.
"She finally remembers she has a family . ."
"You really should thank your stars for not getting caught else Lucian would definitely not spare you". Mia cut her off rudely.
"Why don't I seem to understand what you're saying". Eddie replied feigning ignorance.
"You can feign ignorance for as long as you wish my dear sister. I well aware of your evil scheme so enjoy it while it lasts". Mia smiled drawling the last sentence. "A piece of advice from big sister". She patted Eddie's shoulder.
"Really ,of course I will". Eddie laughed. "This time I wasn't careful enough but believe me next time you'll definitely be sent packing from the Henderson manor".
"Well, he merely married you out of pity . Quickly tell me, how so you feel sleeping with two bothers ". Eddie laughed and Mia watched her hands akimbo.
" What can I expect from you tch tch. Just like your mother , bunch of pitiful and lonely wench . ."
Slap slap slap
Before Mia could even react , Aunt Miller had already delivered two hot slap onto Eddie's cheeks standing beside the seething Mr O'Connor.
" Oh, all are present. Now that's great ". Eddie clapped excitedly as if the slap was nothing to her .
"Eddie you're such a disgrace . ." Mr O'Connor began but was interrupted by Eddie.
"Oh please , there we go again". Eddie interrupted rolling her eyes dramatically.
"Father , I'll be honest. I've never regretted any of my actions and will never, I only have one aim and that was to collect everything her mother has snatched from my mother. " Eddie crisp voice rang in the air.
"And believe me , I will even if it means getting rid of her . ."
Slap slap slap
"How can you be so vicious , just because I've been tolerating your stupidity dosent means I'm dumb and today you've crossed the bottom line". Mr O'Connor bellowed , shaking with rage.
Facing the maid nearby , he ordered. "Throw out all her belongings , today I officially disown her".
"Oh , that's all you've got". Eddie snickered nonchalantly.
" Father ". Mia called out in shock , her eyes widening in astonishment.
" Get out this very moment ". Mr O'Connor thundered, hitting his staff on the floor as he pointed towards the door.
"Of course I'll leave but listen attentively I'll surely settle the scores with you". Eddie replied and with that she turned around haughtily and left.
Mia watched as her father climbed up the stairs despondently.
"Don't". Aunt Miller nodded stopping her from following after him.
"Just let him be, even u will feel much worse in his shoes . All he wanted was his daughters to get along but it seems the more he indulged in her , the more fearless and chaotic she becomes and now she's past redemption just be careful and stay away from her.".
The situation at the Weston corporation was quite tense.
Words about the occurrence had gotten out and was all over the news, their company's stock was rapidly reducing and their reputation was being trashed.
In a bid to salvage the situation , Levii was fired according to the wishes of the higher-ups.
But instead of being sad at the misfortunes , Levii seems especially excited at the turns of events that he even had a candlelight dinner with his fiancé.
"Finally things are going as planned, all thanks to you". Levii cheered and chunked down the wine in his champagne flute.
"Cheers". The duo chorused.
"It's all thanks to your hard work and sincerity. You saved my life so here I am , I told you I'll do anything in my capacity to help you get what you deserve so it's all thanks to you the star of today ". Louise smiled.
" Alright then, I'll be stingy with the praises and won't compliment you again ". Levii laughed.
" Alright, I'll pretend I don't mind ". Louise sniffed and the duo burst into a round of laughter.
" Have this". Louise passes him another flute of wine.
" Thanks ". Levii smiled and accepted the drink , he suddenly stopped when the wine was few inches away from his mouth .
He gently places the champagne flute on the table gazing at the nervous Louise whose heart was thumping erratically as her hands tighten it's grip on her clutch.
"Louise". He reaches for her hands and held it tightly in his palm.
"I know about your feeling for me to be honest but you can't have your cake and eat it at the same time. In this world some things aren't just meant to be ".
" But why . ." She sniffed her nose , her eyes now red.
" I'm not suitable for you , I'm not your prince charming nor will I be able to give you the forever happily after ".
" I am an ambitious man who'll go to any extent to get his desires fuffilled and back then I saved your life but if only you knew you were the one that actually saved from falling deeper into the abyss and I'll forever be indebted to you ". He concluded.
" Back then when you saved me I promised to give you my whole even though you've only treated me like a sister and nothing more , I promised myself to help you get back what truly belongs to you ".
" And I was doing that or I thought I did, but this feeling . . I'm sorry it's my fault ". Louise sobbed.
" No , it's not your fault. We can't stop our emotions, feelings blossom and fade and I believe one day you'll be able to realize I'm not your perfect man". Levii patted her shoulder comfortingly.
" But that should be up to me to decide ".
" Just let go , I hope you'll one day find your prince charming . ."
" I don't want a prince charming, I only want you". Louise interrupted grabbing a fistful of his shirt.
" Some things can't be forced , this heart of mine is too broken to feel anything ".
" Then what about her? ". Louise questioned.
" Emily's just a friend ". Levii replied.
" Then is there really no way ? ". She asked her voice crumbling as tears rolled down her cheeks.
" No, I'm sorry ". Levii replied and embraced her. " Let me drop you home ". He suggested after a while.
" Can I stay at your place tonight? ". She asked .
" Sure ". He nodded affirmatively and helped her up.
Louise gathered her emotions as the car steered though the dark night admist the heavy downpour.
From the onset, she knew it was destined to be like this impossible but she just couldn't help grasping onto a shred of hope but now it has been completely shattered and although she felt hurt , she also felt relieved.
The ringing of the doorbell interrupted her thought and she walked towards the door in Levii's spare pyjamas.
"Miss Emily, come in". Louise smiled. "Levii will be down in a while ,he's showering".
Emily's excited expression fluctuated for a while but she soon regained her composure.
"No need , I was just passing by and decided to say hello".
"Oh , bye then". Louise waved back at Emily.
