The Meeting After Four Years II

A black luxurious car rolled to a stop at the entrance of a high end club. The passenger of the car alighted and it was none other than Lucian who was decked in a custom-made all black luxurious apparel.

The passage of time seems to had have no effect on him as he still looks as young and charming as ever but one thing did change, it was his expression and he himself.

The once cool, calm and gentle Lucian had now transformed into a workaholics, a cold and emotionless man who when he didn't spend his whole day at the office he was drinking off with his pal.

Over the past four years, he suffered from insomnia and couldn't grab an ounce of sleep without the help of drugs which sometimes didn't even work.

Over the years, he kept blaming himself for her absence perhaps if he never left her alone, if he had never abandoned her alone at the resort, she would still be here right by his side and now they would be living the best of their lives as he had already settled the issues with Aubrey and her father.

He was now like a king with a kingdom but without a queen, all it took him was a year to settle all the chaos, divorce Aubrey who he was married to then dealing with her father.

At first when he discovered that Mia was leaving on the same day that she left, he thought she was still at the resort but upon going there he was told that she left the same day he did. Then he found the letter addressed to him in the bedroom.

He searched high and low, through all the cities for her but to no avail even until now.

He entered the luxurious pub to which he was no stranger, both the interior and exterior exudes grandeur. The walls were adorned with ornate wallpapers and paintings decipting scenes from ancient medieval times, the parquet flooring was polished to high shine and covered in a plush rug of the finest quality.

He walked into the private luxurious room where two blonde haired guys were sitting on the antique chair awaiting his presence.

"Hey man ". Liam, one of the guy with a curly blonde hair grinned donning an elegant custom-made clothes and tortoiseshell spectacles, he was surrounded by tons of ladies in skimpy clothing who were all over him.

"Hey man, everything's good?". Levii , the other blonde haired guy asked swirling the scotch and water around in his champagne flute before taking a sip, he was also donning a similar attire.

Lucian plopped down on the leather upholstery covered with soft suede. He picked up a glass of scotch on the antique rosewood table before him and took a sip, kicking off his black flip-flop, he placed his feets up on the heavy glass and bronze coffee table.

"You don't seem to be yourself tonight, anything bugging you?". Liam asked Lucian who was staring out of the window at the bustling streets below and taking a drag of his cigarette.

"Has he ever been himself in the past years". Levii shrugged his shoulder with an unbothered expression.

"I can't sleep". He quietly murmured, gazing through the window.

"The same old tales every night". Liam hissed and took a drag of his cigarettes.

The night was silent as the men's continued with their actions, both Liam and Levii were busy smooching the lady in their embrace who was almost half naked.

"Go get a room, will you". Lucian hissed, irritated at the sight but then he was interrupted by the beeping of his private cellphone which made both Levii and Liam to pause in their actions, quietly heaving a sigh of relief.

"Daddy". There came the voice of a child immediately he answered the call. "Where are you by this time of the night?".

Then came the shuffle of feet and voice and he could tell the phone had been snatched from the kid.

"Hello . ."

"Mommy's wicked, I can't sleep. I wanna play with Daddy". The kid's voice could be heared in the background, crying and screaming.

Lucian ended the call then gazed at his two pals who were now dressed neatly, the ladies with them were nowhere to be found again.

"Suit yourself". He nodded at the two guys and left the room in an hurry.

"Finally". Levii sighed in relief, collapsing on the couch weakly. "Jeff has always been our life saver".

"The same old tactics everyday and yet he never found out, indeed he's now different". Liam forced a smile.

"I hate seeing him this way ". Levii sniffed.

"Hey ,I can't handle you too". Liam gave him a friendly punch and embraced him. "You should go home now, Emily must be waiting for you".

"Oh yes, home sweet home. Into my wife's embrace". He grinned and got up immediately.

The trio were best of friends, popular businessmens who blossomed from nothing to something.

Levii had from being an abandoned son become one of the top leading businessmens in the country alongside with Lucian and Liam who was an orphan.

They all had fought tooth and nails to succeed their position and were like a pair of triplets, standing by each other at every moment and almost every night they relied upon the same tactics, played out the same scene to get Lucian back home and sleep in the company of Jeff rather than hanging around.

"You've always been avoiding this particular subject ever since I brought it up Mia, is something wrong?". Betty, Mia's friend and manager asked , hands akimbo as she stood before Mia who was perched on the plush sofa in the spacious and elegantly furnished living room.

"This is a cause of excitement yet you're brooding. Do you know how many models are out there praying to get hold of a chance like this, you've caught a big fish Mia".

Betty explained but was welcomed again with silence.

"The company has been waiting for you and postponing the show all these while but now, I'm afraid they'll have another person to replace you. Then everything will go to waste Mia, waste!!.

"It's okay".

"What's okay, does that mean you agree, agree to go to NY?".

"Yes". Her tone was tinted with determination as she made up her mind, after all she couldn't hide away for the rest of her lives.
