Short School Date

The next day, the morning routine was no different. We rushed to school with no breakfast and me and Tochaki-san entered our respective classrooms. However, I didn't change into any outfit. I patiently waited for the festival to start. Again, there was a mountain of cupcakes on a table which I can only assume Kanjiro was in the kitchen still cooking. I heard the bell ring and a storm of people entered the school.

I rushed to the boy's changing room and changed into the outfit I wore yesterday. I already did my hair this morning. I came out and I went to Tochaki-san's classroom. She was already outside waiting for me. She turned around and formed a smile.

"Juni-k–"

I covered her mouth with my hand.

"Oh right… my bad."

"Its alright, shall we go then?"

"Yea! I want to go to the haunted house!"

"You mean the one made by the second year?"

"Yea! I looked really scary!"

I already went yesterday. I contemplated whether I should tell her I already went or not. But seeing her exciting face, I decided against the idea and went with her. There was a small line but we were able to get in pretty fast.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Tochaki-san was yelling her heart out. Compared to Kanjiro, she was much louder. I was unfazed since I already saw most of the attractions yesterday. I felt something on my arm and turned around. Tochaki-san couldn't even open her eyes since she was so scared. She acted genuinely scared and I wasn't sure if we would continue or not. We left the haunted house soon after and bought her a drink.

"You know if you were that scared we didn't need to go in."

"Yea but I like horror stuff, I'm just not good with them."

"What a complicated hobby you have. Anyways, where do you want to go now?"

"I want to check out your classroom!"

"Alright. Let's go."

We walked towards our cafe and got in line again. The line was very fast until it was our turn.

"A table for two please!"

"Alright Kinai-san. Is this your friend here?"

'Yea!"

"I see, well this way please."

We followed my classmate to a table. No one in the room other than Tochaki-san knew my true identity. I was honestly impressed how I could look so different just by wearing something casual while also doing my hair. No one even expected to be me, even the people in my class. I saw a head peek out of the kitchen and it was Kanjiro. He saw me and Tochaki-san and immediately smiled. He gave me a wink and went back to the kitchen.

"Wow, your class is really nice!"

"Yea, I don't spend much time here though. I advertise for our classroom outside."

"Ah I see, then I guess we could experience it together!"

A classmate took our order. I ordered a chocolate cupcake and it was served to me immediately because of the mountain of premade cupcakes on one of the tables. Tochaki-san wanted the creme caramel. She waited around 10 minutes and it came out.

"Its so good!"

She took a bite and couldn't stop her hand from moving. After two minutes, the whole plate was gone.

"Its probably Kanjiro who made it as well. Otherwise I don't think it would have been finished this fast."

"I didn't know Isseiyama-kun knew how to cook. Maybe I should learn how to cook for him sometimes."

"Do you like cooking?"

'I've never thought about wanting to learn cooking until a few months ago…"

"What sparked you to want to learn?"

"Uhh… Well… it's more for personal reasons… you know?"

It seemed whatever the reason was, she didn't want to say it. Her face was showing a more embarrassed look than before. Her face was red but not too much. She was looking at me with her ocean blue eyes. Why is she staring at me?

"Well whatever the reason is, I'm sure it will come in handy in the future."

"You are right… it definitely will…"

She gave me a smile and I smiled back. I finished my cupcake and we left the classroom.

We hung around school a little bit more until it was noon. Both me and Tochaki-san said our goodbyes and we left to our own classrooms to do our shifts. The afternoon shift was much easier for our class. There was no line and not many people walking around our classroom. Me and a few other classmates decided to go back to the classroom until hours became heavier but that never happened. The day ended with only a few customers coming to our classrooms. Compared to before, our shop has definitely become less popular. It was mostly due to the popular maid cafe in Tochaki-san's classroom. Even after three days, there is still a huge line every time I walk past her classroom. The day finally ended and everyone went home. It was yet again a successful day. Two more days until the festival is completely over.

The next day passed similarly to yesterday. Since I have the afternoon shift again, me and Tochaki-san went around the school a few more times looking for things we thought were fun. During the afternoon, it was similar to yesterday. There weren't a lot of people in the classroom and the day ended smoothly. Tomorrow however, will be a big day with a slight change. The classrooms will only be opened until morning and then every classroom will be forced to stop service. Everyone students or customers are required to go to the gymnasium where the school apparently held a big party themselves to celebrate the success of this year's festival. This will last for several hours until the lights go out and the festival dance begins on the gymnasium stage. Best of luck to Kanjiro and Tochaki-san.
